When I searched on Google etc I was getting all types of answers.

I just want to ask, what is the maximum amount of followers you can have, and how many people can you follow per day?

Unlimited people can follow you in one day, but you can only follow 2000 more than following you.

I can only follow 920 people.

When my number of followers reached the 2.000 I couldn't follow any more people cause when this happens you should have more people following you, or at least one! The number of followers you can have in your account is unbounded.

Twitter also checks, if you unfollow the ones that have just followed you is bad. Also if once a year you follow more than 1000 on one day, your account will be noticed as spam.

You can follow up to 500 people per day.

Now, the maximum amount of people you can follow is kinda Maths-ish. Initially, the maximum is 2000 unless 110% of your follower amount is higher than 2000. If it is the latter, then you can follow 110% of your follower amount.

Eg: If you have 3000 followers, you can follow 3300.
