Broad Topic
One thing you have going for you is your topic. As EpicallyFun, you are attempting to create a "hub" for users to visit on a regular basis and find some funny material while having some fun, if I am not mistaken. This is a very hard market to get in to, unless you have something special about your website. I put your broad topic under a strength because I feel like you can make your website about anything at this point.
That was confusing. What I meant was that you still seem to have time to find that special something about your website that will make it shine. For example, if you are familiar with iFunny, it is an app for your phone where anyone may submit pictures. There is then a team that sorts through all the pictures and picks 40 each day to "feature." This way, there is constant, new material being generated for the public.
That is exactly what you need to look for and implement. Hire some bloggers to find more jokes. Make sure your content runs like the Niagara Falls! Once again, "why is this a strength?" Well, because you seem to have a basic understanding of what you want your site to be, now you can find what makes it special!
Overall Organization
You seem to have a good, but basic overall organization with your site. There are clear areas for Games, Meme, Jokes, News, etc... I feel that your site is easily navigated from the main menu bar, and just about everything is a click away.
Just because I'm a reviewer, and all reviewers are jerks, I'm going to make a suggestion about your front page. I feel that your "Welcome to Epically Fun" box is rather too big. It seems a little obtrusive just for the purpose of welcoming people to your site, even if they are regulars. Perhaps scaling it down a little would draw your site together a little more.
In addition, your "Featured" section feels a little "off" to me for a few reasons. First, you seem to have seven to nine (7 to 9) Featured Games displayed on your homepage. You have a total of forty-six (46) games on your site at this moment. That means that you have anywhere from four to five (4 to 5) changes of the Featured Games section until you run out of games. Cutting to the chase, I feel that you have too many featured items for the amount of content actually on your website, which is rather limited. Instead of featuring a fourth of your collection, why not feature one game every few days? This would both give your members something to check back for, as well as give you more time to add more content.
Weaknesses:
Log-in / Register System
I've been criticized for being rather blunt, but the log-in system you are using at this time seems rather sketchy. First off, the appearance. It is not fully integrated into your website but is displayed rather crudely in the middle left of your front page, which is a rather inconvenient spot. In addition to the appearance, I believe it cuts down on the professionalism of your website to use an outside company for user log-in and registration. In a way, it shows that you can not do it yourself, and that is not a good image to go by.
If I were you, I would find a way to integrate the log-in seamlessly into your website as step one. Then, I would work to find a script that you could run on your own hosting for user log-in and registration. In the long run, if you ever want to expand or give users more permissions, or really anything involving users and the website, it would be best to completely control everything about the code and databases.
Current Forum Appearance
Well, I'll start off by saying that I'm not sure if a forum is really a necessary addition to your website. Yes, it would be very nice if users would go to a forum to post about your website, but it seems like you're trying to hit two categories of a website that don't mix too well: Information and User Interaction. EpicallyFun seems like a website where the admin / a team will make posts and the users would visit and enjoy them, but not interact with the content too much. Whereas, at a forum, users post most of the content themselves. In theory, it would be nice to have both sides of these websites, but, at least in start up, you need to shoot for one.
Final Remarks:
I'll apologize right now if my language came off too rude or sharp: it is pretty late where I live, and my mind can't really make nice sentences right now, hah! To wrap the review up, you have a decent site with limited material. The organization is pretty good in an overall sense, but there are many changes that need to be done to perfect it. You have a website and a forum, and at this point, I don't think you should be trying to divide your effort. If there was one thing I would fix immediately, it would be your log-in system. Check that out and see if you can do anything about it!
Honestly, I would love it if you would wait the required time and come back to request a full review. I have some good and productive things to say about your website, so keep me in mind if you ever do request a full review!
