Quick Review by Twisted Fairytale

Well, I want to start off by saying Thank You for requesting me. It just lightened my day to have someone request for me to do their review. Makes me feel like I'm doing a good job! Secondly, I'll be focusing on some very specifics during this review. I'll give you my general opinion in the Strengths section and delve into some things you can fix / change to perfect the site! Enjoy!

mostliked.webp Strengths:
  1. Overall Appearance
At first glance, Nintendo Forums is a peppy, vibrant forum that jumps out at you. The characters that make up the sub-logo draw you in while the curves of the background set a smooth feeling that you would expect from a Nintendo platform. The atmosphere jumps out with colors and energy - which is perfect for a rising community! Taking a look at the forums, Nintendo Forums has custom icons for each individual forum that relates to its subject. Brownie points there on a minute detail that adds sprinkles on the top of any community. Overall, the appearance is excellent; there isn't much else to say then to commend the vibrant atmosphere created. Great choice / commission of a theme!

  2. Front Page / Portal
Woah, am I actually commending someone for the use of a front page / portal? Well, I guess I am! In many, many cases, portals can cause so much extra clickage with very little return. However, with Nintendo Forums, I don't see that at all. In addition, it is kept up to date and dynamic! Oh how I love dynamic. There seem to be constant news updates throughout the week, keeping members updated on everything Nintendo.

Though, while I commend, I must also warn. Portals can go out of use very easily. Continous updates are required for a portal to stay relevant. As soon as they are out of date, I think they're out of use. So, that being said, as long as Nintendo Forum's news portal stays updated, it should stick around. It's the first portal I've actually been happy with!
disliked.webp Weaknesses:
  1. Beaucoup des Erreurs!
For those who don't speak French, that translates into "Lots of Errors." I was clicking around Nintendo Forums' bottom links and found a good bit that did not work. Every other click or so, I would be taken to either the home page, or a page that contained this error:

Now that I've clicked all of the bottom links under "Site," "Connect with Us," and "Community," I can confirm that they all link back to your homepage or the error page above. This is something to work on! I understand that Nintendo Forums is a relatively new up-and-coming community, but functionality is important. Fixing those links should be somewhat of a priority.

  2. Lack of Staff
So, this isn't even a super big weakness, just something to consider for the future. Nintendo Forums has two administrators, period. With 52 members, and a good portion of those online in the past day, administrating can be hard to do when you're also supposed to be blogging and moderating. It may not be super hard at the moment, but wait until you grow a bit. *wink* So, within the near future, I would definitely look into hiring a moderator and a blogger/news person of some sorts to update your portal. Just suggestions, but I know how hard it can be to manage a forum with only two staffers!

Final Remarks:
Nintendo Forums is a beautiful community that just sets the "Nintendo aire" setting. It has little perks that makes special and contributes to the topic. Nintendo Forums even pulls off a portal that is updated with news on a regular basis! However, not every forum is perfect, and Nintendo Forums has some broken links and feels a bit understaffed. However, I see a future for the forum; and a bright one at that! Keep up the amazing work, and I look forward to your next review!
