Your Quick Review
Pros
You have a good theme to compliment your general idea of the forum. The color scheme is good, all the buttons do something, and it has the rather Appleish look to it all. The logo space looks very adaptable. Infact, on first visit, I thought the logo was just an ad for another site you owned (Didn't read the banner :lol
🙂. You could put in ad in place of the logo because that is just a great spot for one! I think you should move the whole logo code up above the user nav menu, but below the silver bar (time, wifi, ect). That would look good and make the page more even.
You have a small index, good size for a new forum, keeping it small lets members browse fast and get to the content they want alot faster. I'd also suggest having a "Apple Blog" called the Apple Bite or something, a way for your forum to publish news regarding apple and allow people do discuss it, such as the FP blog here.
Cons
Your favicon is blank, it gives this weird feeling looking at my tabs and seeing an empty space. If you want your bookmark to be noticed, give it some pizazz, something bright and brings you to the point. Also, the icon says (dis)connect for login and logout. I'd edit it to say Connect when you are logging in and Disconnect when they're logged in. I also think a sticky "post your intro" topic in the offtopic section would be a nice addition to let new members announce themselves.
One more thing, forum colors. The color for each category/forum is off. Doesn't fit and just looks like a sore thumb. If you have some graphic experience, I'd try fixing it, if not, that's fine. But that blue just does not look right.
Final/General Thoughts
You have a possibility for a good forum since Apple is rising to the top of the tech industry, just make sure you plan everything carefully before you launch.
