Forum Pros:
- I'm glad to see you have your own domain. A domain is always a great thing to have, especially so early on!
- Glad to see you have staff under control, not too many at all.
- I like the name, it's very unique and easy to remember.
Forum Cons:
- I notice you have yet to change the name on your banner to " Apple Fanatics "
I suggest you do that ASAP
- I really think you should go for a different theme. I've reviewed and also been registered at about 5-6 forums with that exact same Apple theme, and it's really not unique anymore. Just because you're a board about Apple doesn't mean you need to have that apple theme that every single other phpbb apple forum has.
- I'm seeing a lot of board layout problems.. first of all, in the top Category, Announcements should go first, then you should bring that suggestions board that's in your bottom off topic area to the top, right below Announcements, and then you should put Introductions at the bottom, so it would be " Announcements;Suggestions;Introductions;Vote For Our Forum
- You don't have any need to run a silly forum of the month contest. You're an apple forum, you're not a promotion forum. This is completely useless to you.
- There are too many off topic boards, delete a few and combine a few.
Final/General Thoughts:
Your board started pretty well, I'm glad to see you have yourself a domain, that's a definite plus.. however, a lot of problems arise here. Really, the biggest one is the theme. There's no need to use that theme, because I've seen numerous Apple discussion boards on phpBB with the same skin as yours that are larger and more active. You need to distinguish yourself from the crowd.
I hate when I do a quick review to have to put more cons than pros, but I'm an honest person. Don't take it personally.
I think if you take my suggestions into consideration, your board will be off to a better start.
