As far as theming goes, I'm rebuilding the site - So stating I should "Change the theme" would be unproductive, as it's already in the process of being done.

Content
Asperger's content count is actually surprisingly high for a site like this. You have over 1K posts and 320 topics as well as 47 members that are currently apart of the community. Though the content could be higher due to the amount of members that your site currently has, I would keep that in mind. Your site seems to have a variety of content spread around the site and none of the boards seem empty which is pretty good because empty forums and such turn guests & visitors away from the site. So keeping content flowing into these boards will surely help you out in the long run. Your site has some good content and the members seem to enjoy posting a lot so great work on the content field of your site so now let us move onto the 2nd strength of your site.
Activity
Activity may be a shock to be a strength but for a site like this, having 47 members that have continued to post around has really been a surprise. The members seem happy to be posting and aren't always active but that is a given for sites, you will have active members and inactive members but to still have 47 members and the growing content count that you have right now, that is really good and shows that you are really trying to keep your current members happy and not trying to go and get a ton more members to replace them. A good tip for activity is keep the current members you have happy and then worry about getting more members. Getting more members won't do you any good if the current members you have aren't going to be active. Overall, your site strengths include Activity & Content and these 2 strengths are really well done but could have a bit more work on here and there but not as a main priority. So let us move onto the weaknesses that I have picked out about your site.
Weaknesses:
Design
As you stated in the OP of this request, you mentioned that stating that the theme needs to be changed would be irrelevant as you are getting a new one made. I respect that and won't mention that but here are some things that you could do. Instead of getting a new theme made, why not make simple modifications to the one you already have. The theme isn't terrible and having bugs all over the place, it is colorful, simple, clean and isn't hard on the eyes so I don't see the need for changing the entire theme. The banner could use a bit of work though as the image doesn't really make sense and the font of the banner is a bit rough on the blue background. So I would recommend getting a banner that suites the design a bit better. Also, try adding some images to the boards to spice it up a bit for the community. Overall, the theme isn't that bad but it does seem to be lacking creativity, so instead of getting a new theme overall, why not just fix the current one up a bit? Let us move onto the final weakness of your site.
Layout
The layout of Asperger is a bit hard to understand. You have 3 categories and only 2 or 3 boards in 2 of the categories which is fine but then you crammed all the other boards under 1 category when those boards could fit under several different categories. Why not try and spread the boards around in several categories to make the layout a bit easier and make it look more professional. Having 12 boards under 1 category won't go well with the community if it stays like that. Spreading them out will make the site have more of a professional look and feel to it which in the end may bring in some more people to the site. Overall, your layout is really slacking and could be worked on a bit more. So let us wrap up this review with my final words.

Overall, Asperger has some good features but it also has a lot of work that could be done on it. Some things I would really focus on would be the weaknesses that I pointed out and some of the suggestions that I have made. Great work on the site so far and I hope you enjoyed the review 🙂
