Your Quick Review
Pros:
- Your portal/homepage is really quite elegant. I like it. The colors go well together, it looks Web 2.0, and it has a nice modern look. I wouldn’t change it. It’s very nice.
- Your skin is fluid. That’s very good. I use a considerably large monitor, so it’s nice to have skins that work on all resolutions, without making the background as much as the forum. Any forum nowadays should be fluid, and I’m glad to see yours was.
- Your logo is very nice. It’s got a smooth look to it, and it’s simple. It works on your forum. I’m glad to see a logo for a gaming forum that isn’t your typical “cram as many character renders as possible into an image” logo.
- I like the Videos feature. It’s not something you see on forums too often. For a gaming forum, that’s something unique and nice to have.
Cons:
- For a new forum, you seem to have a lot of forums. There are two things I think could go. One is the Entertainment forum. Couldn’t those topics just go into your general discussion forum? It just seems so out of place when pretty much everything else is technology related. Another is the bug report forum. Why not just have people post bugs in the Support section? That makes more sense.
- Instead of globes for your forum icons, couldn’t they be little Xbox logos? They’re both circular and gray, so I think it would go quite well together.
- I think there should be a link back to your portal/homepage at the top, instead of hiding it at the bottom.
Final/General Thoughts: I think your forum will start quite well.
