Your Quick Review
Pros:
- I like the style. Since the purpose of a blog is usually to provide something for guests to read I feel it’s important to have a style that is basic, not crazy and exotic as you want your readers to focus their attention to your articles and not be easily distracted by the style. Nothings worse than trying to read something when you’re distracted.
- The side bar on the blog that contains all your widgets is a nice touch. One of my favorite widgets in the sidebar is the one that allows you to place your articles into different categories. I’ve seen many blogs, mostly new ones that place a variety of blog posts all on one page. You organized everything using that. You also had your recent posts widget so guests to your blog know where the new stuff is. Who would want to read outdated material? Or have trouble finding the current articles?
- You have so many articles that I unfortunately only was able to read a few of them. I choose one article from the “advertising” category, and another article from the “administration” category. I was very pleased with your grammar and professionalism. I can’t read stuff with tons of grammatical errors. I noticed no errors in the two articles I read. Good job. This will be impressive to your guests and something like this would decide if I came back to read future articles.
Cons:
I must say I had to get a second opinion on finding cons. Please take that is a huge compliment. I found everything overall to be exceptional but wanted to leave you with two minor things to think about.
- Without going overboard and adding things that may be distracting I feel you could elaborate on your header text. Maybe add a more stylish font, or even add a basic banner with your name and slogan. I find simple text boring but if you can’t do this without keeping it basic and non-distracting I feel you’d be better off leaving it as it is. Distracting your guests from the content of your site would be extremely hurtful.
- You have a category for Links which I assume are basically affiliates. I recommend adding some links as having affiliates is more impressive than seeing none. I you run another site, or staff on another site you could place a link to that site there. (I am assuming you run/staff on another.) Seeing no affiliates makes me think “Well, wonder why they have no affiliates?” and that isn’t the best thing. Having affiliates makes it appear you’re a bigger, more active blog. It okay to pull tricks on your guests by adding affiliates even if your not a big, popular blog.
Final/General Thoughts:
Overall your blog is exceptional! I think I'm going to go back and read some of your other articles. If you work on the two minor things I mentioned I'd have to leave you with a 10/10 next time, honestly. Keep advertising it and getting more guests to read and comment on your articles. Great job!
What was most liked about the website/forums: What I liked most about your site was the organization. Whether this was easy for you by installing a widget, or whether it was hard for you it was executed well. Since your writing about a variety of different topics organization by separating all your articles into different categories is very important.
What was disliked most about the website/forums: What I disliked most about your site was the fact you have no out-going links in the link widget. It would be nice to see those filled. I recommend the affiliate swap board here on FP if you want to do a link swap with another user's site. It would probably bring more guests to your site which is always a good thing.
