Pros: The theme although plain and basic is very clean and appealing, the site is very good to navigate around. I like the navbar at the top which let's me access all the main features of the site, although I did notice that your chat link was out of line with the other buttons and needs looking at. Your forum descriptions are very good, there are no spelling or grammar errors in them and they also have depth, which a lot of sites lack.
You only opened today and already have 79 posts which is a solid start, you need to make sure your post per day stays at this level or improves, look at using posting packages or post exchanges to help build on the start, this will give new members plenty to sink their teeth into. I also like the welcome message at the top of the screen it gives guests plenty of detail, I do think you could do with cutting the list of abilities down.
Cons: The site logo needs improving as it's too much on the basic side, if your are a geek forum as you put it you need to look at showing off your skills and your site logo should be one of them. I'm not a fan of side panels on a forum index and yours serves little purpose and it squashes the forum up which is not needed. I would consider getting rid of it.
I had a look at your staff and your forum tells me you have 3 admins!!, this is overkill a forum needs 1 admin unless it's a massive forum like FP, and a forum with less than a 1,000 posts only needs 2 staff max (1 admin and 1 moderator). You need to consider changing this. I would consider instead of just having a general discussion forum, have a full section with different areas as this will give users most things to post to.
Final/General Thoughts: You have made a good start, look at improving the post count, you do need to consider the points I have mentioned such as side panel and logo, as I feel this will improve your site, you need to now advertise your forum more to gain more members and consider post packages and exchanges
