Yes and no.

I wouldn't want a massive, colorful and in-your-face type logo, but I wouldn't want a logo that doesn't captures people's attention. If it blends in too much then people won't see that and forget your site's name.

Exactly. I like having a noticeable logo but also one that fits the site.

Apart from the Database Error: http://i42.tinypic.com/ru5m2r.png , previously, it took an excessive amount of time for it to load. I pinged the site and it said 22+ seconds.
