Racial profiling (airports especially)

What do you guys think of this? I personally think no because putting aside all of the civil rights violations, a thing like this would only further the goals of Al-queda by having our country alienate peaceful muslim fliers and travelers. All it does is further their recruitment message of how America is hateful towards Islam. I just think it would actually cause more people to join al-queda than it would cause them to not join. Not only that, but I can see it also causing a relaxation on the policies we already have in place on normal travelers. We all know that not all members of al queda are muslim. Some are black, white, asian, whatever else. I just don't think it would do anything beneficial.

I think Racial profiling is wrong, but it is a difficult habit to quit for some since TV, video games, and the media always tend to use Muslim characters as the bad guys, so some simple minded people might start profiling others with out being aware of it.

There's nothing you can do about it. All they will say is it's random checking. You can't disprove that, no matter how many times you've been called in. As long as you're innocent, you should not need to worry about anything.

I hope you realize I am using that in the context of the airport racial profiling, not in general conditions. As long as you've not done anything illegal (air travel-wise), you should not worry if you get called in for checking.

Wrong choice of words. It's not because he's a Muslim, it's because he either dresses or stereotypically looks like an Arabian. A "Caucasian", "east Asian", "Arabian" and "Negro" could all be Muslim so it's not because he's a Muslim.

Perhaps, but that does not mean you should have your time and comfort compromise because you 'look like' a terrorist.

Personally I think profiling and the use of body scanners/pat downs is the way to go.
The success of profiling has been proven by the Israeli and if anybody knows anything about countering terrorists, that would be Israel.

Racial profiling is never right. Whether it's successful or not, it's morally wrong, and it shouldn't be done. It's also a clear violation of our constitution.

Profiling is being done by law enforcement agencies and it is nothing new. What is new is the idea to use it for the general public. And what everyone needs to remember is that this is a war. A war we didn't start. Al Qaeda started it on 9/11.
A war where if we don't hold our own we will lose. And not just the USA, but the world will lose. It is a war between evil and good. War between muslim extremists (Al Qaeda, Iran, North Korea and their puppets) and the free world (USA, England, Spain, Italy, France and all other countries).
A war which we must win at all costs.
