radio-forums

sorry, i must have missed this while chatting with promotionBB's admin.

I'll tag this forum you, and have it completed within 24 hours.

Rejected, not even been 2 weeks since you last Requested a review -roll-

The sites both have very similar names so i got confused

Ill let someone do this as we dont have a backlog, although im going to update the rules as i must of deleted something whilst editing it, it should be 1 review per person not forum

i didn't know he did request a review, cause it was "one review per member/forum per month" in the rules.

Actually, it's not YOUR forum is it?

you're asking for a review for someone else's forum?

I'm not sure i should do this. We reviewed YOUR forum already, i'm going to ask that you repsect our time, and service.

I thought i was going to be reviewing your OWN forum?

Nope. But I ask the admin permission of that forum. I know the admin personally. he said it's fine since I was already a member here and he wasn't. and the rule stated 1 review per forum per month

you're being stubborn about this ... not respecting the review team for this; why would we want to review a forum for someone who doesn't even come on here.

do you have about 30 more forums from other sites you'd like reviewed?

i'm going to do this review for free 😉

demanding a review, cause of a simple typo in the rules, is seriously unprofessional in your matter. and it's going to reflect in the review

so .... no charge

mate just don't do it then.
I'm not in the mood for this. I was demanding I was just pointed out that it was in the rules when it got rejected for some reasons.

To be honest i dont see the problem, I said its fine to be done as its not your fault there was a typo in the rules, he wasnt to know, i want this review to be done, but ive edited the rules, it wont happy again Hcfwekser, my appologies 🙂

i got it ... and sorry for my attitude, radio hot. i won't let it affect the review.

and, i'll do it for free. i just need an extended deadline. give me til later this evening. i've been bomabrded on my forum with a new competition; and i just got on a little bit ago, and am getting caught up.

i was just frustrated cause this is for someone else's forum, who isn't active on here.

I'll get it, just give me about 4-5 hours.

First Impressions - (Out of 20)

It may not be my taste in what I'm looking for in a forum, but this forum has some style. A very unique layout within each board. And i really like the image pics for each DJ board. A nice added touch. Everything seems to go well togther; from the skin, category bars, and the text color.

The only one setback, is the forum banner. It really sets itself apart from the rest of the forum, and not in a good way. I like simple banners, but it just seems too plain for a forum like this. I would recommend a banner that compliments the rest of the forum, and grabs the guests' attention when visiting.

Site Layout - (Out of 20)

I like the beginning sections of the forum. You make sure to get all the basics up first, so it's the first thing new members, as well as returning ones, check and see there first.

There's alot going on here. Maybe too much! The studio board just seems to have alot of content, and would be hard for a new member to find their way around it. I'm sure it's the style your members are used to and prefer; nothing wrong with making sure the forum theme, stays the main theme. I do respect that!

All other sections of the board seem very well layed out; and easily navgatible.

Forum Statistics - (out of 20)

It's hard to not notice, that your forum has come along way. I've sen forums with more members, and less posts. Yours is impresive, 388 members, making a grand total of over 160,000 posts altogether, is one of the best forum statistics i have seen, when comparing the member/post ratio.

One thing that does kind of seem strange. Is some of the DJ boards, where there are only 18 topics, but over 12,000 posts. There may be some one on one discussions going on between DJ's and fans .... but after so many posts, it's time to start the topic over. Noone's going to want to read a topic through with that many posts. It just throws some people off.

Staff Moderation - (Out of 20)

Well, at the current time, there are 6 members on, with only one admin present, and 3 DJ's. I'm assuming DJ's are considered staff, since it should take something to be a DJ, and get their own board. Some may take off for being overstaffed ... but that's the theme of the forum, is bringing DJ's togther, and that's what should be more present than anything.

(20/20)

Spelling and Grammar - (Out of 20)

The Admin/Staff is obviously someon educated, with some years behind them, and i mean that in a good way. Everything is well presented, and well intriguing when reading board titles and description. And it's hard to critique on something so well done.

(20/20)

Total Score - 90 (Out of 100)

Final Remarks:

I can tell you've put your soul into this forum, and it really shows. From the clever, and insightful board titles, and descriptions ... to the many diverse activities the forum offers. And i can tell you've got some years/experience behind you in the radio business, cause you do know what you're talking about, and how to get new, and striving, DJ's involved. Excellent work you've done.

What was most liked about the website/forums:

Just the feeling, and commitment from the forum staff to the forum. I'm sure it's been along road, but everything seems just perfectly orchestrated for this forum.

What was disliked most about the website/forums:

That i can't DJ, and get involved. Seriously, though, nothing i can say bad about the place, just that there are too many boards, and would find it hard to find a place to start, or even get my name out there in the community ... i'd be so lost.

How could I get you (The Reviewer) to join my website?

It's not about me not liking the forum, it's that your ofurm has one goal, to inspire, and represent DJ's who want to make it in the business, and looking for guidance, and a way in the door to the business. If i ever plan a career change, and i can get my voice to sound pleasing, lol, i'll defenitely check out this forum, again.

Hi hcfwesker,

My name is Brayden and I am one of the Administrators on Radio Forums.

Firstly, thank you for doing the review and I was very pleased with your comments. However, I should point out that we were not immediately made aware that Forum Promotion was to do a review on us and we were told by Luke (radiohot) that this was happening AFTER it was submitted.

I just thought that needed clearing up, however I am pleased that you are satisfied with our forum - we really do strive to be unique and 'stand out from the crowd'. We are very passionate about what we do. 🙂

By the way, the graphics are being revamped very shortly.

The graphics, indeed the THEME on radio forums was not part of the review as far as I can see

So why would you make such a remark about the graphics being revamped from the "old and NASTY" current graphics?

P.S. new forum logo is "nice" ... did a retarded baboon make it?

I'd also like to point out none of the unique "mods" were reviewed - specifically, the internet radio management system. The bulk of that is admin only, or DJ functionality, which obviously can't be reviewed by someone without that sort of access

My point is, if any other site running phpbb3 that needs a multiple shoutcast server maintenance system, please contact me, the author of this system - no, it's not spam, I'm giving it away, but I do not have the patience to make it into an official phpbb3 MOD. Installation is simple.

That's one UNIQUE radio-forums feature that wont stay unique for long

Ummm, i can't tell if you're from radio hot forums, or you're bashing them? the post is kinda confusing; especially with the new forum logo comment.

and, no the review couldn't be reviewed from an admin's POV ... that's the point of the review, to review it from a "guests" POV, and how THEY would see the forum. which that's what i was 😉

it's a non-biased, non favorable review of the forum.
