Yeah, they now have rainbow Doritos! 😀 I found an article from Yahoo that says:

Doritos Rainbows are a limited-edition version of its Cool Ranch-flavored tortilla chips to show the chipmaker’s support of the LGBT community. The chips come in shades of green, blue, purple, red, and orange inspired by colors of the Pride flag (or, perhaps, Skittles’ “taste the rainbow” tagline).

“There’s nothing bolder than being yourself,” the company declares on the package.

You won’t find these fun snacks in stores — you can only snag a bag of Doritos Rainbows if you donate $10 or more to the It Gets Better Project.

Once you donate, Doritos will ship the snacks to you in about 1 to 2 weeks. One hundred percent of proceeds go to It Gets Better, and Doritos covers the shipping costs.

(Article from Yahoo Food)

So what do you guys think? :O You going to donate so you can get the pretty awesome rainbow goodness? 😀

Haven't been much of a chips fan, so I don't know if I would donate to just get chips. Though it looks like it could help motivate people to donate towards a good cause, if they get something to snack with. 😀

Why can't they sell them in stores and donate a portion of the sales to It Gets Better Project? They'd probably raise a lot more money if they did that instead.

Yay! Rainbow colored chips! I saw this on Facebook earlier and I think it's an awesome idea. I support the LGBT community 100%. I'll likely donate next payday.

They would probably get too many complaints from people about it offending them or what not. 😛

I doubt it. Maybe in red-neck land. 😛

I've seen this done before and I think that'd be a much easier way of doing it as well. Though I'm sure there would be complaints, no matter where anyone lives that they don't support it and they are offended by it. But who cares, at least that is how I feel. I think it should still be sold at stores that way. 😛

Wow, this is amazing. Never seen anything like this...ever! the chips look wonderful and yummy of course! if only each chip had a different flavour.

donating to a LGBT community/company is a nice gesture as well. 🙂

You'd be shocked, there was a group here that crashed a gay couple's wedding, I wouldn't be surprised if they threw these off the shelves. 😛

I've never even heard of those before. ;P I would be scared to try them. xD

My question is... why don't people just donate straight to the It Gets Better Project? Why justify the purchase of artificially colored and genetically modified corn chips and pay $10 to a company that is just going to turn around and claim these proceeds as their own donation and use it as tax right off at the end of the year?

It gets more attention if people realize you get chips for doing it. =P It would have never reached the news, and let's face it, if it wasn't for the chips people probably would not be donating as there would not be an obvious reason to do so.

Exposure for the cause is definitely a positive thing. I just hope more people would opt in after finding out about it to just donate to the It Gets Better Project instead of buying the chips.

Judging by the article comments a lot of people don't like this. I wouldn't eat them anyway because honestly they look pretty nasty to me. I like regular or Ranch Doritos on occasion which I know still isn't the best for you but those...

Check out some of the ingredients of the Cool Ranch Doritos, which serves as the template for Rainbow Doritos:

(GMO) corn, (GMO) vegetable oil, (GMO) maltodextrin, (GMO) corn starch, (GMO) corn syrup solids, (refined) sugar, monosodium glutamate, (GMO) dextrose, Red #40, Blue #1, Yellow #5, disodium guanylate...

And what's not even listed is all the pesticides, herbicides and acrylamides that might also be contaminating the product.

Never heard of them nor do I really want to try them. 😛 They look weird.

Im not against lgbt but i think it was very inconsiderate

Howso?

I think they ignored many peoples opinions on the matter and lost trust from many customers. As a business i dont think they should make decisions on things that are very disagreed upon. But personally i think it was disrespectful in general. This may be more extreme but imagine if suddenly all Doritos had Donald Trumps face on it. Or Kanye for that matter xD
