Raising members

Hi xxxzzz1, may I asked what you have done already?

- Advertising
- News updates
- Word of Mouth promotion
- Reviews (to improve appeal)
- Create a few dummy accounts
- Comment on blogs within the same topic
- Use Social Media

Well i did use social networking sites such as facebook and twitter and advertised the forum and the members i currently have are from those sites and i know them.

Your site is also relatively new, I would give it time and do everything in your power to gain members. Read up on some guides here, use our (and other service boards) services and never lose interest or give up hope 🙂 Most communities take time to grow and flourish, don't make the mistake with being impatient.

Its hard to get things going with a forumotion forum, especially when you are comparing your forum with at least a thousand others. I would suggest a domain at the very least to try and reduce the forumotion impact on the appearance of your forum.

I've been saying this everywhere but it's true. Make sure you are submitting your forum to the search engines, especially the major 3. (google, yahoo, msn).

Continue to make topics of interest. I suggest that instead don't make topics that start in sentences. Instead, start with a question. That will open the topic up for open discussion.

I wish your forum lots of luck.

Just Google is needed as it covers 71% of web searches. The others won't play a major role.

While google may account for most search engine searches, I'm sure there is benefit to being listed by other search engines. Other people may use either yahoo, msn, bing, alltheweb, etc...

Very little, if any. I wouldn't focus too much on any of the others (actually, just Yahoo/Bing and Ask). You can, but time is best spent on something which will give you a decent return.

If Google has found you chances are the others will also find you. Just link in to your forum from already indexed sites and they should all pick it up in a few weeks.

...There a way you can tone down that cloud background? You asked for feedback, so I'll say that it hit me as a little jarring.

It may of already been said, but posting on other forums similar to your niche works really well. Well it has for me.
Leave links in the signature, you may pick up a few extra members that way.
