Ranks or titles of members

Does your forum have member classification? Some forums have titles or ranks as distinction of their community members. Newbie is the most common of those titles. Does the ranking have an effect on the membership? I mean, does it stir interest?

most website do 🙂 I have like 6 ranks and as you post and grow your post content you change in the ranks

I agree with you sir, its also boosting their confidence when they are higher ranking than new members.
