Sounds like it never closed so why would it need to be relaunched? Just think up something to boost activity.

Well in my forums case we are down for months went we relaunch, we've done it 3 times, currently working on the third time.

I am not relaunching a site, Just seen some forums that this has happend.

Why would you re-launch it? Just re-promote it, or have a contest or something. No point in re-launching unless you go through an update of some kind or you are back from being down for a while.

I would do that but loads of people dont

Yes, I do see that often as well. It's depressing to see someone give up on their community.

My forum went down for 1 Month since we moved off forumotion we are hosting A posting contest i have giving up on the community Yet

I can see a site relaunching after perhaps a year or more of being closed, but relaunching it when it goes dead? I would more or less try to come up ways to bring the forum back to life. Not start all over again.
