Recognizing Exceptional Staff Members

Sometimes we all have that staff member that goes above and beyond that you'd really like to reward. Occasionally, you're unable to promote them for whatever reason, but they're still doing a good enough job to deserve extra recognition. How do you reward staff members like this? Things like employee of the month, forum cash bonuses, or even real cash rewards are all pretty cool - but I'm interested in things that are incredibly creative in one way or another. Is there anything that you do to reward exceptional staff members that is especially out of the ordinary?

I haven't experience that option and really probably wouldn't happen since my staff rewards them selves better then I do, at seems that the administration gets low paid support and that's how I feel.

But you can award them whatever they want, but if you know them and know what your staff is like then you probably know what they like to get. But can't go wrong giving them cash here and there. But definitely not flowers haha

Things like employee of the month

Typically a forum has a small team so employee of the month would get repetitive. Theres so few people there is not much competition. Eventually you'd just be taking turns.

Haha, I was actually that moderator at a time XD. The admins jokingly said I was a machine. The thing is, if you do that whole "this one mod is so awesome" to the community it's kinda alienating the other moderators. I was sick at the time that meant I was stuck at home for a year and that meant that I had so much time on my hands. It was a busy site and a lot of bots. My mod actions were something like 2,000 in one particular month and kinda ranged upwards of 500 every month. Most other mods were less than 100 except one other no-lifer. LMAO. I'm ashamed I spent that much time online. XD. Some of the other mods had jobs, school and various things and it would have been unfair to them if they highlighted me. I was thanked privately and that was good enough for me.

We did have a community awards every year though where the community could vote for "Mod of the year" as one of the options. Of course that only highlighted the community favourite rather than the mod who did the most work XD.

I award my staff members in different ways. Example, in my gaming community I have purchased and gifted games our staff wanted. Old webmaster forum, I have purchased domains, and servers for staff. Etc.
