So I decided to redesign my forum from scratch. I moved away from MyBB's legacy PHP / MySQLi software to new modern software called NodeBB powered by Node.js and MongoDB. It's working really great so far. Incase you guys don't know the link to my site it's https://sinfulforums.net I'd really appreciate anyone who has time to check out how the new software is working. I still need to create a new theme but so-far, so-good.

At the moment, I would say it's got a lot of empty space at the bottom and the sides, on mobile, it would look great but on a desktop, it feels very sparse and could do with a bit more. But then, you did say you are still working on a theme, the lower area, you could use for statistics, like most popular threads of the week, newest users, etc. Just to fill the page up a little more.

Foes look good regards mobile and easy to get around but regards to desktop. Needs working on. Best of luck and post if needed help

Not a fan of the forum software... I've seen another site (a major site, mind you) with the software, and I'm not interested in it. Eh.

It's definitely easy to navigate through, no distractions from the content which is good.

I like it, it's definitely not your average forum you see around.

Since you asked, here are what I have to say. (All in regards to mobile view)

1. Its amazing. This new framework is responsive and really amazing. Its suitable for the slow network types also.

2. There is a lack of color. So you need to work on that.

3. I think that its either that each of your forum and way too many subforums that the index looks crammed. Really crammed. Its either that or its the board index design creating the problem. I'll leave it to you to decide on whats the problem.

You make some really good points however I'm kinda stuck as what to do, I'm not switching back to MyBB due to their toxic community culture, but NodeBB has a lack of easy to use theming options, I might buy an XenForo license if I make enough money over next few months.

Edit: Might not be possible to switch software without losing all content. NodeBB's importer was broken, and there's no way to import NodeBB into any other forum software, I'm stuck at the moment, looking into my options.

So an update to everyone, a ton of issues came up with NodeBB, I had my hands basically forced to sadly restart again. Probably gonna start by getting posting packets from FroumPromotion and doing some post exchanges and see where things go from there. Pretty stressed about this at the moment.

Go buy xenForo, and don't look back.
