Registering with Hotmail Issue

Good morning!

We are currently aware of an issue when registering a new account with a hotmail address. Apparently, hotmail does not receive or show the activation email, even in the spam folder.

We are currently addressing the problem!

If you have been attempting to register with an email address through hotmail, please try registering with another address, such as Yahoo or Gmail, until we resolve this issue.

Please also note that some people has had issues with emails going to spam. If you have not received an email from us, please also check your spam folder. Also, please marks emails from Forum Promotion as "not spam" and add [email protected] to your whitelist.

From my exp alot of hosts or sites seem to have hotmail issues like you are having now. This could be caused by the way the guys behind that provider handle things.

On my host they had a related issues to with hotmail or the same as here. The server IP got blacklisted on hotmail servers.

We are currently investigating the issue and we think that our server IP getting blocked by hotmail servers is a possible reason for this issue and we have sent in a request to get it removed from the blacklist.

Ah just like the issue with my host then. The response time of hotmail staff is horrid though. Can take up to weeks if I'm not mistaken.


Though if you lucky which I hope it will be looked into by them asap.

Weird. I registered with a hotmail email and I had no problems. Seemed to take forever to get the activation email though.

I should say that my first ever FP account was registered with a hotmail address too, but that was back when Fowler was the owner of this forum, though, back in 2008.

Can someone on staff here send me a test email at chattingtime [at]live.com so I can see if I get anything from you guys? I have been noticing that I've been having trouble with the Forgot my password link to the point where I've had to use the Contact Us form, and sometimes not even that works. I don't even get so much as an email put in my junk folder from you guys. Also, I don't have an account with this address, but is it possible for a staffer to send me a test email at [email protected]? Or can you do that when that email's not even registered even? For sure I would like an email test sent to my first addressed I posted. The yahoo one is merely a backup email, as lately I've been encountering issues on some forums where they don't accept hotmail addresses at all as a part of registration because it's supposedly not considered a legit address.
