I've added a few "obstacles" on my registration page to prevent spammers from joining. I'm worried that I may have gone overboard: (check the box and hit "register") http://forums.p8i.com/register.php . Please tell me what you think. Too many safe blocks? Or is it fine?

Note: You don't have to actually register. Just asking for feedback on the page. Only sign up if you want to be apart of the community. -😉-

I don't think you've gone overboard. I see you're asking for registrants to answer a question and you have a captcha image. You should be able to block most spambots.

Chazz, Demencia:

I appreciate the responses. Thanks for the input.

Hopefully so. I can't stand having to deal with them.

You only have 2 "obstacles" which is fine. Also make it where the user have to active there account to post if you have not already done that.

Oh, yeah, I made sure that the users had to approve their accounts (via email) on day 1. I don't think a forum could survive without that function, with all of the spammers that would get through.

Well if they have a lot of "obstacles" then no spam will get in.

-redface- I see I put alive instead of active.
