Relationships: Age Difference

Age shouldnt matter as long as everything is legal and the two invloved are both adults (18+). It really is about being happy. There are laws in place to help prevent the worst cases from happening, so as long as you respect those it should be fine. I know in Ohio its illegal for anyone under 18 to date anyone more than 4 years older then they are. So the max would be 17/21. After all, at that point if your bf/gf could drink theres always the possibility they could buy it for you, which is illegal.

I know a friend who is 17 (almost 18) who is going out with a 13 year old girl. I really do not believe that he should be doing this. I do not know what they are doing sexually, really I do not want to know. It is just wrong to see that going on. Also, both of there parents are fine with it...

I agree with the person who said that you can get away with bigger age difference the older you get. As for what Havok said, ive seen it done, and it is kinda weird, but whatever id theyre fine with it. And in some cases, it is better just not to know lol.

Ya, I would never go out with someone that is like 21, it would be awkward 😛

Im 16, and I might. Now that im getting older, I really dont care as much. Im also at that age where I could date a 13 year old, or someone whose 18-19ish without anyone really caring. Lucky meh =P

I believe that if the couple is happy and there is not anything "wrong" going on, then it is fine. Plain and simple. ~smile~

I'm 15 and my boyfriend is 20.
Is that bad? XD
...Note that I don't care if you think it's bad.

Its not a bad thing but considered against the law. I know girls mature a lot more earlier than boys which maybe why some girls go for older people because they are more mature.

I don't know, but in the end it is your choice and if your happy then I don't see a problem.

Sorry I got the wrong impression, it is for any sexual activity though which is what I meant.

><
I'm sorry, I don't mean to be mean. I just can't stand when people judge each other based on age. D:

I'm currently going out with a 16 year old, it isn't bad in any way but when I was 16 in Sixth Form, a mate of mine had a boyfriend aged 24. Depends on if you like them or not, if you are happy then go for it.

What is your view on people who are in a relationship but have large age differences? I dont like it personally but again if someone wants to be in a relationship like that then iam not going to tell them they cant.

What is a OK age difference to you? Hmmm a couple of years like 1 or 2, but iam young so that may change lol.

Can relationships with large age differences work? Ya, why not??

Well my uncle married a women who was 20 years older then him.

As long as they are both older then 18, then I really don't care. But why should we be telling other people they can't marry someone who has a large age difference?

Oh Jesus... Of all the topics, this one.

I'm very qualified to speak on this, I think. I just got out of a relationship with somenoe twice my age that lasted 8 months.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it. As long as everything's nice and legal. No one aught to complain.

But it is hard. Very hard. Especially when it comes to the bedroom area. And that floods out into the rest of the relationship. So you need to be able for a significant age difference.

I suggest everyone be with someone older or younger if you ever feel something for such a person. Even if it's just to learn about yourself. You can really share a lot of love regardless.

I don't think it matters. Heck, my parents have an eight year difference in age. -😉-
Anyways, don't aren't women more mature than men?

For example, if there was a 40 year-old guy, wouldn't a 34 year-old girl have the same level of maturity? Physically and mentally?

I don't think it matters, people have the right to do it, let them.

Many relationships have two people of different ages, it obviously doesn't matter to them... why should it matter to me?

Yeah. I often wondered how people who are afraid of age difference cope with being 2 years older or younger than someone else lol Like a woodpecker on their head, chipping away "TWO YEARS"

my 20 yr old daughter was seeing a bloke for a yr that was older than me and her dad.
did i like it ? if im honest no and cried at first, but at the end of the day i had to respect her choice as an adult to make her own decisions and mistakes xxx
