Do you think including Religious symbols, habits or even thoughts in cartoons is a good idea.
I don't think so, Cartoons shouldn't include stuff like religions. It encourage conflicts between people from different religions, also it encourages children to be religiously racist in the future.
I don't see an issue with religion in cartoons. It's a cartoon for crying out loud, no one used to get offended by much until now. Now everyone thinks putting a cross on a cartoon scene or a talk show will "offend" someone and it's really stupid. 😛 You live in a free country where you can display your religion where you want, if you get offended that easily you shouldn't be living here in the U.S.
And really, they are cartoons. Stop ruining the fun. I honestly do not see how they can be religiously racist, if they are taught properly about everyone's religion and that not everyone in that religion is the same on cartoons, (let alone everything else, it's a cartoon, nothing is going to be accurate) than they should be fine. It's up to the parents in all honesty, if they get offended by this kind of stuff then they don't need TV.
Cartoons are created by artists. If an artist wants to include religious themes, or the logo of their favorite football team, it's fine with me. They may narrow their audience by doing that though, or they might even broaden it. Ultimately, this is the kind of thing the free market can decide pretty well. People watch what they want to see, and more of that stuff gets made to appeal to that demographic. The people who don't like that stuff are also a demographic though, so watch other stuff.
South Park has played on religion a few times. I see no problem with it and if the people who do cannot find their remote and change the channel then what's worse? Them watching it even though they can change the channel or the mockery itself?
