It ruins a witness. I mean, what better way to spread mischief and ruin a witness? Well, defenders might say, "Well, it's Christians standing up for their beliefs and having guts.". But really, there's no political battle in Christianity - it's all in the spirit realm.

But, of course, some things the Christian Right says are correct - but the problem is that once they are involved in politics - well, you get all kinds of negative things involved like: hypocrisy, judging people from a wrong spirit/motive - who can name more things?

In America. We have the first amendment which is also FREEDOM of Religion and Freedom From Religion. I think religion has no place in any government or a political system. It also has no place in LAW at all. I'm glad the US Constitution recognizes freedom from religion. Otherwise we'd have more incidents like the Salem Witch trials and the West Memphis 3 because the government would be going off of other people's claims and beliefs instead of going off of EVIDENCE to prove someone guilty.

The government cannot favor one religion over another, nor can it favor religion over atheism or agnosticism. Governmental favoritism only serves to divide and drive a wedge between citizens over what should be a private matter. In this country, government does not discriminate on matters of faith, or a lack thereof. No one should be treated like a second-class citizen by the government simply because he or she does not share a particular set of beliefs.

There should be freedom for individuals to practice whatever religion that they choose. This helps to avoid a situation where we would have so many hypocrites claiming to be religious.

Religion has been one of the major problem affecting every areas of our lives. Religion should be totally kept out of politics as religion is personal relationship between you and God.
