Good evening, Forum Promotion!

It's about that time to take a moment and secure your account. As a member of Forum Promotion, you could be a target for malicious activity. However, there are ways to prevent that!

Change your login name often to deter possible malicious login attempts. Your login name is secret and is not your display name.

Change your password to a strong string of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Write your password down or put it in a secure locker. A good tool for generating strong passwords is http://passwordsgenerator.net/.

If you have any issues or questions, please let us know! 🙂

Maybe the development team could work on a 2-factor authentication system.

As well as CAPTCHA, we have found for a few years now, that Q&A paralleled registration massively reduced spam and along with complex password levels, reduces risk of being cracked/hacked.

We had one member cracked in the early days, simply due to their username and password being duplicated (and a simple string at that!)

All the best,
Cal 🙂

I would definitely support this. 2FA should be on almost everything, given how easy it is to use.

Thank you for the advice. I have a idea for FP. When you sign up on FP, it asks you for security questions. So each time you login from a different location it will ask you those security questions answers. This will help prevent malicious activity. 🙂

Hey, Infected!

We're currently discussing possibilities such as these. If we are to bring a feature like this, it will be announced soon. 🙂
