Do you allow members to add another reply in a second post or do you prefer they Edit the original post? Does it matter to you either way?
Having more replies certainly would up the post count but artificially. Flipside, editing the original post, sometimes the tag doesn’t go through & people may not realize there is an edited, updated version.
What do you prefer for your members?
I’m fine with them adding another reply, especially if it is a continuation or added thoughts.

If there are no posts before the member who wants to add something new, I think the editing feature is good.

On my Forum, if they reply after their post then the software automatic marge their content together 😉 But they can edit the main topic also if they wanted to.

As long as it's not spam and looks weird and messy, If it's on topic or whatnot then nothing to be pooped about

You want members to be free and you do not want to start controlling them with what they can't and can do. They just think it's pointless and leaves.

Sometimes my members make a second post because they want it to be seen by others and what I mean by that is that if you have a very long post, people might not read the entire thing. But they might read a second post, or at least parts of it.

I am more than happy for members to make a second post over an edit if they missed something or wanted to correct something or wanted to add more to their previous post. I feel this helps more members see their correction or addition to the post rather than missing it on an edited post and it potentially causes issues if there is some kind of disagreement.
