This upcoming movie with the title Reset is a science fiction story that is produced by Jackie Chan and directed by Chang, a Korean director. Starring Chinese actress Yang Mi in the role of Xia Tian who is a lab researcher who loses her child to a kidnapper in the person of a mysterious man played by Taiwanese actor Wallace Huo. The action-packed movie promises to be in the genre of Jackie Chan’s movies. Reset involves time travel in order for Xia to save her son.

I thought jackie chang is not filming anymore, his latest movie is quite boring with India style -_-

Oh, thank you for letting us know, Jackie Chan has some nice movies. And no, he is not out of the business, although he has been making more movies in China, not your everyday Hollywood production and I must say, some of the titles were brilliant.

Tian jiang xiong shi OR Dragon Blade (2015) was quite an amazing title.

Dragon blade was awesome

With all the silly things Jackie does in his movies, his connection with the Roman general was really something special and nice to see. And the scene where they joined forces to restore that city was amazing. It does not cover the history that much, but there are some speculations about Romans in the China, I guess part of the story revolved around those facts.

Just an update to this thread. I had seen Reset tonight and I was greatly disappointed. It is produced by Jackie Chan but it's too far from the Jackie Chan movies that I like. First is the digalogue, it is in Chinese and watching a movie with subtitles is inconvenient. Second issue is the plot which is time travel that is best to be read in a book and not in a movie because it is difficult to understand. Third issue is the stunts which seemed to be endless so it became boring. From a rating of 1 as the lowest and 5 as the highest, I will give Reset a rating of 2.

I haven't seen it yet, but you do have to understand that Jackie is all about silly stunts and what not, so for anyone watching his movies, it should be expected. And I wouldn't mind the language if it had decent translations, it is his native language and its more convincing for me, at least.

I am a fan of Jackie Chan and I understand what you call his "silly stunts" simply because I love it. But with this movie Reset, the stunts were not silly, they are so serious like the stunts in a serious action film. That's why I said the stunts seemed endless up to the point that it was already boring. The movie is a serious science fiction coupled with action and drama. It's so different from the trademark of Jackie Chan. By the way, the people in the theater were less than 50 and it's so few considering that it was just the second day of showing. Oh well, if my barometer is correct, I'd say the movie is a flop in the box office.

Weird. Most of his latest releases were related to either history, China or exploration and such. I wonder why he decided to make such a change. With his "silly" stunts and China's history, he can make quite a nice movie. Perhaps he had no ideas?

@Makefort, I had a short stint with a production of a movie. I'm not saying this is the standard of movie production here, just quoting from my experience. I saw how the director could manipulate the story in order to convince the producer. And when the producer gives the director the down payment to start the ball rolling, the director would hastily make changes to suit his liking or to save on budget (so more money would go to his pocket). One example is the casting, the producer believed that the lead cast are popular stars but then there are lots of alibis that those stars were not available so they had to settle for lesser named actors. Maybe Jackie Chan lacked knowledge in movie production hence he was made to believe that the movie is good.

Well, it surely isn't a big title, so you would have to look at the budget they had to make something. And having something on paper does not mean it will look the same on the screen. As for Jackie, i do believe he is good when it comes to movie production, but probably not the futuristic stuff and time travel. Maybe he just needed some quick and easy money, who knows.
