Have you ever returned a Tech type product because you didn't like it? I can understand returning things that didn't work getting returned, so that's not what I'm asking.
I try to do a lot of research ahead of time to make sure the item is what I want so there are no surprises when it's delivered...or at least minimal surprises.
Before you go to the store, consider why you are returning an item. Could your dissatisfaction be a result of your setting up the gizmo improperly? Think about paying for some professional assistance before giving up on your brand-new home-entertainment system.
I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon and their return policy is quite lenient so I tend to return a lot of stuff, even if it works, if I’m not satisfied with the quality. For example, I returned a power bank a few weeks ago because it didn’t last very long at all.
I don't think I have returned any tech related product in a few years, but it isn't off my potential list, if the product I order doesn't live up to expectations.
Back when I worked as a Service Desk Associate and eventually a Customer Service Manager at Walmart, we'd have plenty of individuals making very questionable returns, especially when it comes to tech products. I've seen it all. Customers would come in returning a TV and they'd have an entirely different TV in the box of the TV that they were returning. I'd call it a switcharoo. Their old TV breaks, so they go to Walmart and buy a new TV, then they put the old TV in the new TV box and return it. There's serial numbers on the receipt, the box, and the TV to prevent this, but you still have customers try to pull a fast one. At the end of the day, I'm not going to call you a liar if you claim that this old dusty TV was in the box that you just purchased yesterday. There were plenty of times where I approved those types of returns, despite how obvious that it was a fraudulent return.
I have returned tech products in the past myself, but it's always been for a legitimate reason. Does that mean that the item totally didn't work? Not necessarily. If the the item was just super disappointing, then that's a legitimate reason to return it. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. A lot of the time, the retailer is taking a loss on it because they may not be able to resell the item, but that's part of taking care of the customers, to a certain extent.
I haven't really returned them, mostly since the tech that I buy works and doesn't fail. When it does though it has already passed its max warranty and there isn't much that you can do other then see if you can get it fixed or trash it. Many times I have tech items and the warranty is ended not long ago lol
