Review by Ryan please

Just got back a few hours ago from holiday. I'll get on with this right now as you've been waiting a couple of days. 🙂

Review By Ryan on Cloverfield Movie Forum

Number Of Members: (10/10)
Your forum has a total of 2747 members, which is really good for a forum that opened around 4 months ago. Now that you have loads of members, more members will tend to come by themselves and no real hard work is needed for your forum to progress. Well done and keep it up!

Number Of Active Members: (10/10)
The activity level on your forum is brilliant. I can see that you have many members who use the forum on a daily basic. This is outstanding considering that you forum has been open for little more that 4 weeks. There isn’t really anything that you need to do to get this even better - as new members come, activity will boost by itself.

Number Of Posts (Spam or Otherwise): (9/10)
Your members have made a whooping 250,203 posts which is extraordinarily good because of the short amount of time that your forum has been open. I will also tell you that your members make an average of 91 posts each which again is tremendous. The only thing that I can say that could be improved is that over half of your posts are made in the ‘Off Topic’ section - I recommend that you try to get more of your members using the subject areas of your forum (The Cloverfield Sections). On the whole, though, the number of posts made in total just about makes up for that.

Appearance (First Impressions): (12/20)
One of the main areas that does need strengthening on the Cloverfield Movie Forum is the appearance - there are positives and also negatives. I will start with the positives. Your banner looks absolutely stunning so, whoever made it deserves quite a lot of credit for it. I also like the NavBar underneath your banner, it looks great and goes quite nicely with your banner and template. The other thing that I like about the appearance of your forum are the forum icons, they fit in with the subject of the forum and also look good. Now for the negatives. I don’t really like the design of the actual ‘forum’ part of the Cloverfield Movie Forum, it doesn’t really appear very attractive to me because of the dark colours. I do not usually mind dark templates, but I think that this one is a little too dull. Another problem that I see is that the colour for the names of the different sections are in a bright green colour - a dark template with bright writing doesn’t usually attract me. Overall, the positive’s balance out the negatives and your appearance is little better than average.

Layout: (18/20)
I’ve never actually seen the Cloverfield Movie so I cannot comment on the related sections. Everything to me looks in order in the Non-Cloverfield sections, although I think that you should split up the ‘TV/Music/Books/Sports and Technology’ into 3 sections - Entertainment (TV/Music), Sports and Technology. I’d do this because I am not sure that those 5 subjects are all related to each other and should be in the same forum.

Moderation: (9/10)
For a forum of that size, you have the right amount of staff and, by the look of things after a quick glance round, everything is well moderated. Well done. One thing that I can comment on, though - one of your forum owners (Lionheart) has only made 5 posts. I’m sure that you would find better owners than that if you had a look around.

Activity: (10/10)
As stated earlier, I think that the activity level on your forum is brilliant to say that it has been open for little over 4 weeks. Very well done!

Spelling and Grammar: (10/10)
Having a glance at posts made by each of your staff, I have seen that none of your staff members used poor grammar or spelling. They receive a special praise from me.

Overall Mark (Out Of 100): (88/100)
The 2nd best review I have ever done - well done and keep up the great work!

[marquee]Thanks for getting a Review at Forum Promotion.[/marquee]

You are now required to pay at least 15 cash to my account.

Thanks for the review. Lionheart is the person hosting us so he adds all the ads and technical stuff. He does not post and is 'invisible' when he comes online.

As for the offtopicness, the movie has been out for over 4 months now and we are waiting on info for the sequel and game so there is actually nothing really to talk about at the moment which is why people post in the off topic section to chat with friends. I don't think the off topic section should be split because it is big enough as it is without 2 more sections being added to it.

What do you have to do to get 10/10 for posts? I get 3000+ a day and that isn't for a well established community. We are less than 5 months old and to have quarter of a million posts is pretty cool imo but i'm happy with 9.

I picked you specifically to do the CMF review because you seem the harshest at reviewing 😉

Aah, okay. Sorry, I didn't realise.

I'm still not sure about that. I have seen forums with many more sections for offtopic chat. It may also help to bring non-Cloverfield fans to the forum?

To get 10/10 on posting from me, you need a similar kind of figure for number of posts in each section, and also have a good figure in the overall number of posts taking into account the number of members and how long the forum has been open. (You would have had 10/10 but for the number of posts in the off-topic section).

Harshest at reviewing? Should I take that as a compliment? -lol-

No, thanks for the comments. I like to give as much room for improvement as possible so that owners can get the most out of their forums as possible.

Moved to Completed.

That's exactly it. I read your review on the Prison Break forum and that was enough to convince me on letting you review the CMF. But it is a compliment because as you said, you tell owners exactly what is wrong, not that everything is right.

The harshest reviewers are the best in my opinion. Bad example, but look at American Idol. Simon Cowell is everyone's favorite judge. And why? It's because he's not afraid to speak his mind. I have only met a few people who actually speak their minds, and I happen to be one of them 😀.
