Review Familial Ramblings

Hello fellow FP members!

I would be really greatly for some feedback on my blog Familial Ramblings. My blog has been open since December 28th, 2011 so it's been around for a little over a year now. Familial Ramblings is primarily a family and relationships blog; however, I do throw in the occasional more random of topics.

So, please take a look, tell me what you like and don't like. What you think I can improve on and even any topics you would be interested in seeing me cover.

One question though, on your twitter, you seem to tweet out old, old posts, is this you doing so on purpose or is there some automated tweeter gone wrong? 😛

I love the theme and the articles Lunar. The theme is obviously unique to your blog, and this makes it stand out all the more. The articles are also a great read. I do notice that you sometimes have long gaps between your posts, but it's almost always worth the wait when you do post a new one. 🙂 It's also not really the type of blog that needs to be updated every day either.

Thanks so much for you comments, Geoffrey! The tweets are from a plugin to tweet older posts. I'm going to jump to the conclusion that it's annoying? It's something that I was giving a try, but I honestly don't think it helps much at all and have been considering removing it.

Maybe you could make some shorter posts at times when you are busy. Shorter posts such as links to useful resources or news stories would still be helpful to your visitors. You could even write up a few of them and keep them in reserve for times when you simply don't have time to write a full post. That way your blog gets updated regularly.

Like others have said, I really like the design and layout of your blog.

That's what I've actually started doing, Fergal. I realized that my posts were generally REALLY long so I've started making shorter ones. I also do a lot more writing in advance and also accept guest posters, which helps to lighten the load.

I've made a couple of changes to the site recently albeit a bit on the subtle side for the most part. If anyone has any more feedback, I'd love to hear it!

One thing I did add that I would like if people would look at and give their opinion on is when you click the ad banner on the sidebar it leads to a page with pricing for both ads and sponsored posts. I just wanted to get opinions on whether or not the page looks okay and if it's confusing or if there's anything you'd suggest I add. Thank you!!

The page looks fine, though you need to put at least some basic stats on there (at the bottom would be fine) so potential buyers know what kind of traffic you have and will be seeing their advertisement or promoted article.

Alright, need some opinions on something, haha. On another site that I frequent a couple of people have said that my sidebar is a bit too cluttered and doesn't really look cohesive to the rest of the site. What are your opinions?

One suggestion that I was given was to add a light green-tone background to unify all the buttons. Thoughts? Suggestions?

That's something that was suggested (in a round about sort of way), but I'm not sure how it would look in all honesty. Maybe I'll give it a try and see how it goes.
