Review on One piece forums.

Hey guys!

Uh..this is an anime forum.And it's still pretty new.I am having some troubles with spammers but all in all,I would like to have some feedback regarding the look and feel. We also have "theme change".Our forum provides four themes in total.It's up to the user to set the theme.

Any feedback might help us in making that forum a better place.So feel free to express your opinions.I kinda believe in, "everyone is equal motto". So,based on the posts and rep,we have group promotions where everyone can have a colored username.And..we have 9 group promotions 😉

I guess that's about it for now.

It has a very neat theme (Although outdated design)

and why have login form in the sidebar and header as well?
I think the login form in the header is sufficient.

The top menu is not very visible. (Bold text would make it better)

The theme looks nice. The only thing I would say is maybe add some custom forum icons (instead of using the default ones) which relate to your subject. That may appeal to members and guests.

No, I meant the forum icons on the forum index page. The light blue boxes which have the text 'New' in them. 😛

I really like the shade of blue but I agree some aspects of the design seem a little outdated. But all in all it's not too bad and overall pretty easy on the eyes. I'd maybe recommend a new, sleeker banner and as Mikaya suggestions; some new forum icons/markers. If you're interested in some new ones, feel free to shoot me a PM and I can try to make some for you =]

Eeek, I can really tell that you're having a problem with spammers I think I counted over 50 spam accounts on your online user list. You're bound to always get a few but you can still take some measures to help stop the majority of them. You might want to consider adding an e-mail validation and a captcha, see if that helps. I'm not sure what kind of banning options MyBB provides but you should also ban IP's and emails, because they'll just keep coming back if you don't. You'll also notice a lot using similar names like GeorgeCip, Georgefrog, GeorgeNew or WilliamKa, WilliamKl, WilliamKn, WilliamNon, WilliamPn, Williamtock. If you can, 'reserve' names so new members can't use them. You could do George* and William* for example, the * being a wild card. This is what I've done several times, but I use ZetaBoards so I'm not sure if you'll be able to or not. But hopefully all of this helps! Once that's all said and done, I recommend purging/deleting these accounts so your online list isn't so cluttered.

The forum layout looks pretty good overall. Hard to judge because the forum is new, but down the line change the forum depending on what the community does. For example if the Bleach and Fairy Tale forums don't get much attention, then possibly remove them. They can be popular on other forums, but that doesn't guarantee they will be. Also, perhaps the "One Piece RP" should be in the "One Piece" category? If you move that up there, you could replace it with a general rp forum for other themes and animes 🙂 And a very very small thing 🙂P) but in the titles you use a mixture of exclamations, periods and sometimes nothing. I think it'd good to be consistent with titles, so I'd recommend removing the '.' and '!' and just leave them plain. But it's not a huge deal, just a personal preference ;]

Um...>.> We have changed banners just recently.Our users are kinda picky about it TT.TT

And we have three plugins to stop all those spam comments.We also have a plugin(stopforumspam).It's kinda famous...

I have tried email activation and later admin activation.As I am a bit lazy >.> we have lost some valuable users.So we have finally decided to give out instant activation and deal with all those spammers later.We have banned more than 100+users so far.We are doing our best to keep the site clean TT.TT

But it seems like that's no way near enough.I can't really trouble you with all the custom icons.I will try to figure something out.Thanks for the offer.I will change the rp section too. Thanks for all the tips ^^

Outdated design but still looks okay. Most myBB themes are outdated though. You might want to check out your competition: http://opforum.net/ which are a fantastic community. Wish you good luck, things look decent as of now.
