Site looks clean and that is personally a huge upside. The one small thing that always seemed to pinch me personally with some sites was when the portal (homepage) is a different style slightly than the forum itself.
I personally prefer it to all be the same so it feels like I'm on the same site. Now it still has the color scheme so it's not as bad as what I've seen in the past but that is the only small thing and that may be entirely a preference.
Even if you were able to get some type of portal plugin (don't know what vB offers in this area 😛) and save the portal as the index page. That may be something to consider, but again maybe it's mostly a preference.
Overall, site looks great and the activity appears to be great as well.
