Peak Forums

Design Quality
I like the dark theme, but some improvements could be made to make it even better. Some suggestions I have are: to move the statistics box to the bottom of the index, it is distracting where it is currently located and it doesn't look good to have that be the first thing you see, change the color of the announcement bar, the red is really too bright, remove/hide the staff tab because it is currently visible, and to remove the quotes from the announcement header bar because they look unprofessional and inappropriate.
Not everyone likes or are able to use dark themes for various reasons, so it would be nice to have at least two other alternatives, a light theme and then another one. The logo is alright but it could be improved because it seems sort of plain right now.
Good
Site Statistics
Peak Forums currently has 877 posts and 122 threads, with 32 members. Those are okay statistics for the amount of time your forum has been open, but it could be better. Some of your members have a higher post/thread count than some staff members, which shouldn't be happening with the age of your forum. Try encouraging staff to post more and especially create fresh content. Members go by example. If they see staff active and posting around, they will also. The "adult cafe" that you have may have a lot of content, I am not sure because it is partially hidden, but if it does it might of been introduced too soon. You want to focus on getting niche related content first, which is not the adult section. Put less emphasis on that section until you get the forum going, at least. I would recommend not even having that section because in my experience and from stories I have heard nothing but trouble comes from adult areas like that. Having the ProStats module is a great way to showcase new content, so good job with that.
Average
Originality
There are a lot of general discussion forums, so you've picked a
really hard niche for your forum unfortunately. The one difference I see is the "adult" section, which I don't think is going to appeal to or draw many people in, in my opinion just due to the nature of it. I do know some of the other general discussion forums have a section or area like that, but it works well for them because they already have a large and varied audience. You'll really need to create unique content and activities for your forum and members to succeed, and more than just the regular posting/referral contests, marketplace, groups, etc.. It can be hard to think of unique ideas sometimes but it will help to just sit down and brainstorm things. For example, so you have groups, which is not a new or unique idea to forums at all- take that idea to the next level and customize it so to speak. Forum groups with social network like features? Hasn't really been done in the forum world before. A system that allows users to automatically create their own groups? Hasn't really been done before. And so on, so forth. You really have to innovate.
Very Poor
Final Remarks
Some changes need to be made for Peak Forums to really grow and succeed as a forum. There is a lot of competition within your forums niche so you will have to be constantly improving and innovating if you would like to stand apart from the crowd, but it can be done. Good luck with Peak Forums, kingcool52!
