I would like you to please keep in mind that World of Gaming was originally Teckie Forums. Fords8 and I joined up and we completely redid the forum. We have turned "Teckie Forums" into World of Gaming. Thus the forum is a little unbalanced at the moment. Please keep this in mind when you are reviewing us!

Thank you for keeping this in mind,

First Impressions & Appearance

First off, I really like that you have a selection of many different themes. The default theme is dark which is appropriate for a gaming forum, but it's great that you have a couple light themes too. Let's face it, some people prefer dark themes over light themes and some people prefer light themes over dark themes. So, I don't think you will ever lose members because of your forum's default theme. I usually don't like dark themes, but I really like your forum's default theme. It's very appealing. I think you could do better with the forum icons though. I think they would be better being a gaming controller or something.

Secondly, I would like to take notice to your forum's favicon. It doesn't seem to relate to gaming. I think the favicon should somehow relate to gaming or forum. The favicon could be a controller off of any icon website like IconFinder, etc or you could have a custom favicon made. A custom favicon could have your forum's initials on it, so it could have "WoG" on it. Besides the fact that your favicon doesn't seem to relate to gaming or your forum, it doesn't really match your forum's default theme either. The green on the favicon could at least be blue; the same appealing color blue that is all over your forum's default theme. Then, it would match pretty well. Lastly, I like your forum's logo. It is dark though, and it is a bit hard to read. The logo isn't easy on the eyes. I think the text should be a bit lighter; make it be readable and stand out, but still flow well with your forum's default theme of course.

Site Layout

Your forum has a total of three categories and sixteen boards. Your forum's layout is a bit strange to me. I really think you should narrow your layout down to ten boards. I really don't understand why you have the General Discussion category so maxed out. It's basically the off-topic section of your forum, I don't understand why you have six boards devoted to off-topic discussion. One thing that just doesn't make sense is that you have a whole board for website administration discussion and a whole board for webmaster discussion. You also have a bunch of sub-boards, you go into real specifics. I don't understand that, your forum is a gaming forum, I don't see why you need to go into such detail with them. I think you should merge those two boards and it would be better if you just got rid of all the sub-boards. Most people on the forum won't be webmasters or administrators, so it's going to be hard to keep those two boards active, so I believe that would be best for the forum. Secondly, I feel you could make Graphics Forum and Technology Bytes sub-boards in either General Chat or Media Discussion. That would narrow your off-topic section to three boards, which is a lot better considering your forum's current activity status and that it has nothing to do with your forum's actual genre.

The first category is perfectly fine, I like it. It says "Techie's Lobby." It needs to be changed to WoG's Lobby, or something like that. It took me awhile to notice that, so I wasn't sure if you had noticed it. I think you could organize the Gaming Forums category a lot better though. How it is now, you have seven boards in the category. I think it would be much better to have the boards as "General Gaming Discussion," "Sony Gaming," "Microsoft Gaming," "Nintendo Gaming," and then "PC Gaming." That would be two boards less. Then, you could create sub-boards in each board. You could have a sub-board in each gaming company's board for reviews, guides, news, etc. It would be much easier for users when browsing the forum because then, Xbox users would know to go to the Microsoft board, PS3 users would know to go to the Sony board. Then, general gaming discussion would have threads like "Last game you played?," "Favorite Gaming Console," "Sony vs. Microsoft Debate," etc. I think that would flow much better.

Statistics and Activity

As of right now, your forum has accumulated 451 posts and 19 members. Your forum opened back on the 4th of May. That means your forum has been open for around forty days. That's not too bad, considering your forum has been dead up until recently. There really isn't much to say about your statistics and activity because of that. Your forum is somewhat active nowadays, most of the boards are being kept active. That's good. That leads me to my big concern. All your boards should be active. I see a couple board that haven't had a single post. There really shouldn't be boards that don't even have a topic in them. It's unacceptable really. One of the boards empty is "Reviews." The staff team should write a review or two of a gaming console or particular game to get the ball rolling. Hopefully other members will see that and share their reviews as well. I really don't understand why the "Gaming News!" board doesn't have a single post. I am not much of a gamer but I do know that the E3 recently happened. They announced many different things that would be newsworthy to have its own topic in the gaming news board on your forum. It's pretty simple, you could just quote an announcement, cite your source, and then ask for opinions and thoughts from others. It's a great way to get discussion going. I also see that there are many boards with only a few topics, which were made back when your forum first opened. You should make more topics to really help generate discussion. Regarding that, if you have a question, you can always send me a PM, and I will try my best to help. I think you understand where I am coming from though. Great job on reviving your forum so far.

Staff Moderation

It looks to me like your forum has a total of four staff members. It's either four or three. It depends on whether or not Shane, who is "The Creator" is considered a staff member. It looks to me like he is though. Counting Shane as an administrator, you have a total of three administrators and one moderator. Three administrators is a lot. You can't possibly need that many administrators. Having that many administrators can be a security risk. The more administrators, the more passwords that could be cracked and the account being compromised. You really don't need four staff members, I think it's best if you put the staff team down to three. If you would rather not do that, it would be good for your forum to demote one of the administrators down to a moderator. One of the administrators shouldn't even be an administrator, "Shamil" hasn't made a single post and hasn't even logged in since the fifteenth of May. I don't see a reason why he is a staff member, let alone an administrator. If there is a reason why, you need to make sure he posts and at least logs in. Your staff team seems to be doing well with moderation though. Your entire staff team needs to be active and do their part.

Spelling/Grammar & Professionalism

I see a few spelling and grammar mistakes here and there. I also see many errors in spacing and capitalization. First off, look at the Suggestions & Feedback board description. The first sentence says "Do you fell that something is lacking or is been overdone?" Fell needs to be feel. It says "or is been overdone" I don't think that is correct. "Been" needs to be changed to "being" or "is" needs to be changed to "has." Secondly, in the Introduction board description, it says "New to your community?" Your should be changed, it's not the new user's community. You could replace "your" with "the," and that would make sense. Thirdly, check out the Game Discussion board description. The second sentence says "Also chat around about and subject a game has to offer!" I think "and" should be "any." Next, what I meant by capitalization errors is just words that aren't supposed to have a capital letter. In the "Graphics Forum" board description, it says "Discuss anything that has to do with Graphics." Graphics doesn't need a capital letter in that case. Lastly, what I meant by spacing errors is obviously unnecessary spacing. In the Webmaster board description, it says "Discuss anything Web Master," you have a space between the words "Web" and "Master." Yet, you don't have the spacing in the actual board title. Also, that is unnecessary capitalization. Now, on to professionalism. One thing that really seems unprofessional to me is your use of explanation points around the forum, especially the board descriptions. It makes it seem like shouting. You may have used explanation points in excitement, but it doesn't seem to be giving me that feeling. I also noticed that the founder of the forum uses a lot of smilies. There's nothing wrong with smilies, but using a couple every post is a bit unprofessional. I know you mentioned that you know the forum is unbalanced, but I still see a few times where Techie is mentioned in other skins, threads, and sub-board descriptions. I won't expand on that though, I think you are working on that. Overall, the forum could be a lot more professional.
