The past month or so i've been experiencing issues with Revillution and my current hosting provider. I've also ran into some issues with the add-ons we run and the later versions of Xenforo, after discussing things over with my other half, we decided it was in the best interest of the site to move it away from our current host and platform and to something where we can spend more time focusing on content and running a community rather than spending most of the time fixing issues.
So we've decided to move back to ZetaBoards and will remain there for the foreseeable future. We also have a custom theme thanks to Kik/Sarah/Valentino and will be getting another one made shortly for those who like darker themes 🙂
Here is the Beta preview. Hope you guys like it. 😀 We're still working on adding things to it and such but take a look. 😀
I'm sorry to hear about the problems you're facing, I had similar experience before so I know how frustrating it was. You can't even take the database to continue somewhere else. I wish you luck with the new version at ZB! I hope the problems can be solved soon.
Thanks guys. 🙂 Yeah I made a full backup but it's just the hassle of moving everything and then worrying if the new versions of XF will be able to run, etc. I figured under ZB i can let Rev grow and not worry about upgrading and focus more on posting and being an admin rather than a behind the scenes tech geek all the time. I've seen big zetaboards like WATWD and Atrium and figured Rev can be right up there with them in due time. 🙂
Good luck with Revillution. I can only imagine how frustrating all of that has been for you. At least now like you said you can focus on content rather than spending so much time fixing issues. Were you able to back up the old threads and posts too? ...or are you being required to start from scratch as far as that goes?
