Hey there. Back on 26th December, I started my online forum, Hobbyist. It was a forum centered around discussing and sharing your hobbies, activities and what you like to do for fun. Of course, I was still a newbie with forums at that time and I then shut it down due to lack of users and development stress.

Today, I got the idea of bringing it back. The original Hobbyist used a modified version of Simple Machines called CreateAForum. It was just Simple Machines but you couldn't download any mods or themes but it set-up everything for you. This 'Re-incarnation' of Hobbyist will not run CreateAForum but I've decided to either make it using:
  • Simple Machines(The real Simple Machines)
  • phpBB
Those are the two software's I've decided to run it on. But I'm thinking of using Simple Machines because it's the software I have the most experience with.

Here's some screenshots and images from the original(In it's current state):

That's what the forum looks like now. Seeing as I'm no longer working on it, it's of course, shutdown and nobody can access it except me.

In the second picture, the boards were unorganized which made things confusing and not tidy. The first picture which is the logo, is childish-looking which did not suit the site and made it belong on a children's site.

I, of course, want to fix a lot of the issues that was in the original Hobbyist and make it a lot better.

Tell me if you like the idea of me bringing this old forum of mine back. I would love to as it was my first forum that started to grow and is what got me into forums.

In my opinion you need a new theme for the forum & a nice banner to make it recognizable 🙂
