I don't understand? You bought a $200 software, but you are still using a free domain?

yeah, it's a bit of a mixup, but hey, it won't hurt to have a free domain without ads. 🙂

I saw that some people came to look, but nobody joined. Out of curiosity, where did it confuse you and/or why didn't you want to join? 🙂<br /><br />-- 01 Feb 2013, 17:25 --<br /><br />bump

Re: Revolution GAMERZ Forum

No content, default theme, no logo and using a free sub-domain with a premium forum software are probably what are turning people off right now.

My thoughts exactly. Running a premium software on a free host/subdomain kinda makes one believe that the owner is using a nulled script because if they can't pay for real hosting how'd they pay for a premium software???

It doesn't make much sense to pay $200 for forum software, but neglect to buy a $1 domain... It seems very fishy.

Not really, because a forum software license is one-time to pay for, and a domain is recurring. That's annoying on my credit card. Besides, this hosting I got is great, it gives me 10 gigs of space and 100 gb of bandwidth, MySQL, htaccess, php, apache, and everything a hosting company has with just a subdomain as a flaw. Can't say no to that.

Why do you even worry about it anyway? It doesn't make much of a difference, and some people just don't even care. Look at the seven other members I have now, they didn't.

It has a non-default theme now, a logo, users, posts, everything but the fact that I didn't leave free hosting behind, because it's all I've got. Deal with it.

I am not against free hosting, you asked what could be turning people off and I said that could be one of the reasons.

Saying things like 'Deal with it' won't get you new members.

The software is a one time payment of $200. Domains are going for 99 cent for an entire year. Explain how paying 99 cent for an entire year could possibley make an impact on your pocket when youre able to spend $200 on the forum software? On top of that your forum is missing the copyright redirection links that comes standard with all licensed Xenforo forums. Even if you paid for it to be removed the text wouldnt even be there. Secondly youve got a Xenfocus theme but likewise is missing its copyright redirection link. Please explain yourself.
