Rivals to Your Site

Being an advertising forum I have many 'rivals' but I choose not to think of them as rivals as each advertising forum is created to help others.

Gaming point of view you always going to see so many more gaming sites, I mean I used to be staff for many gaming-related sites that are no longer around anymore.

Not very easy to get into and grow with so much out there

Mine is a general discussion forum, so there’s lots of different communities in this niche. It can be difficult to get activity on the forums but as long as you stick to it and post new content you can keep members coming back.

There are tons of gaming websites and forums out there, but I really don't pay them any mind, primarily for my mental health. I don't want or need to be obsessing over what everyone else is doing and trying to one-up them; I'd rather stick to doing what makes me happy with my site and focusing on my community. I've seen plenty of larger forums than mine come and go, which told me years ago that size doesn't guarantee anything so worrying about how big anyone else is really isn't worth it. If being bigger always meant better and longer lasting my forum wouldn't have been one of the few gaming forums on ZetaBoards that had the longest tenure and kept a consistent core number of active members. Maybe if someone treats their forum as a business venture or whatever then sure, worry about that stuff. I do this for fun, not money or anything like that, so as long as it stays fun for me that's what matters.

My forum is an admin forum, there are plenty of "rivals" but I'm a member of most of them and enjoy being active on them 🙂
