Role Playing forums?

What are your thoughts on RP (Role Playing) type based forums?

I've seen some, and have had thoughts of maybe starting one too to play around with.

Much and all as I hate to show my age, I honestly don't fully understand how RPG forums work. Maybe I should join one to get first hand experience.

RP (not RPG as it's not necessarly a game) is a place where you role play your character that you come up with. So basically a Dungeons and Dragons type thing. Where you go around on the forums acting and talking as if you actually are a stormtrooper and stuff.

It depends, I mean I've never actually registered on a role playing board, but there are no limits with what you can do, unlike in Fable 2 or Oblivion (less on PC... but still). Modern D&Ders I guess, kinda interested to try it sometime.

Ah, you're absolutely right - there are limits in a video game, but the sky's the limit when it comes to a RP forum.

I'm 33 1/2 and live on my roleplaying forum.

Most people in my real life don't know anything about it, though.

It's a LOT of fun, but only if you like roleplaying, obviously. It's not for everyone but I think it is becoming more popular...

I like survival horror (Resident Evil/Zombie) roleplays, and general city/village roleplays ^_^

Hell, even World of Warcraft have RP servers, which are servers where people role play as their own characters!

Agreed, I would actually feel kinda silly playing along but some are really popular so it's certainly a liked niche.
