Site Name: Roman Forums

Site URL: http://roman-forums.com

Description: the forums of ancient Rome is the theme, where people in togas talked about everything from hedonistic pursuits such as the gladiators, to the intellectual, such as literature, philosophy, politics, the gods, or simply orated and debated.

there is a lot of interest in movies and tv shows such as Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Troy, Gladiator, Caligula, and so on. Barbarians from outside the empire are also welcome.

includes full service image hosting (better than photobucket), quick-n-easy image hosting (better than tinypic), small chat room for real-time conversation, games page, search page, and regular forum members can get a free roman-forums.com webmail account. more surprises later on when (if) the forum grows.

I love it, I have seen Spartacus Blood and Sands, troy and gladitor all epic! +rep for sharing

NICE SITE, I JUST CHECKED IT OUT AND BOOKMARKED IT =-d

on the forum last week we got a swarm of 00,000,000 new members!
the servers can barely handle the traffic! :cheer: not

we had to confer with the webmaster, the web hosting co., IANA, the FCC, FTC and DMV, whether we should allow any more new members and after long deliberation the answer was

YES we are taking new members! feel free to sign up and post something

actually the web hosting co. asked what we were talking about and the IANA, FCC, FTC and DMV just hung up but hey we tried

I think that the overall look of the homepage and forum could be improved, but good luck with it all regardless. Nice, unique topic 🙂

thank u so much! I like to keep the simple things simple. name, links, that's it.

anybody wanna look at the simplest index page on the web?

click here --> http://roman-forums.com <-- click here

wasn't that simple? it's even in black so you don't get confused! too much.

I do that so the simple parts don't interfere with the complicated stuff. like the 3800 word excerpt from Paradise Lost (15th century masterpiece of western literature) that I transcribed from obscure, densely knotted middle english to modern language and typed by hand so readers can read it!

http://roman-forums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=52

or a little spiel on what Freud thinks of, uh, all of civilization

http://roman-forums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=18

or an 850 word essay I wrote on what light is, what matter is, why nothing can go faster, and, impossibly, how what's beyond "the speed of light" is a place instead of a speed

http://roman-forums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=12

or another essay that I wrote on the origins of the universe and everything, leading up to 4 new theories on the existence of the universe (2 named and 2 unnamed) all that in only 1100 words! Stephen Hawking eat your heart out

http://roman-forums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11

or 2600 words that I wrote (with pictures) on the transformation of Ireland from druids to christians

http://roman-forums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=26

or 3300 words on what Dostoevsky thinks about the French, catholicism, and socialism

http://roman-forums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=25

not to confuse that with the other areas of the website, like the two free image hosting pages, the free webmail for members, the chat room ,the games page, or the search page!

that's why I did it that way.

hey! wanna read about my pet snail?

nice site, buschmaster, I love Rome and ancient Rome, I'll join, but not post much as my arm doesn't feel well.

Really like that template, plus its one of the more original sites I have seen. Keep it up!

thanks. that template is good enough for now, not exactly what I wanted, but good enough. going to work on something different and totally badass. it's a lot of work.

read about the Nikonov AN-94 Abakan assault rifle!

this is the most detailed and comprehensive review of the AN-94 anywhere on the internet. 3900 words and 50 pictures describing the operation, disassembly and practicality of this Russian special-forces-only weapon.

you might not be special forces, but gamers seem to be particularly interested: right now the forum is phpbb, but when it was a snitz forum, after a year the review had been read more than 5000 times.

the AN-94 is featured or available in games such as Call Of Duty, Metal Gear Solid 4, Medal Of Honor, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and so on. see why it was so popular!

Silly Season at Roman Forums

well it's around christmas now, what some call the silly season. the end of the year when people get time off from work, or don't have any work, and sit around doing whatever. so I turned off registration. (you still have to put in a username, otherwise how can you make a post, and "a" email address) log in and post something! whatever comes to mind! get silly

thanks. I had more ideas yet for it, it's still not as good as I wanted it, but that will have to do for now. for the past 2 months I've been working on something else, which I may put out soon.
