Rowhammer has reared its ugly ahead again, it seems.
Rowhammer is a security vulnerability which attacks the physical structure of DRAM itself.
I believe the general is that if you hit a bit of memory enough times in rapid succession, it will cause bits in nearby cells to flip as-well allowing an attacker to change the contents of memory behind the back of the OS, user, etc.
Previously, Rowhammer required a script to run locally to work, however now, security researchers have found a way to attack systems remotely with a 10Gbps connection.
