Merry Christmas, everyone! Our team has been working hard behind the scenes this month with many updates across our forum! Here's what's new:

Massive RPG-Related Updates

Selectable Rpg Character Dropdown List Cleaned Up

The list of selectable characters in our role-play boards have been cleaned up, removing inactive story characters, and updating many character titles across all groups.

Forum Banners Upgraded

All forum banners across four of our skins have been updated to be bolder and clearer than before. Here are what they all look like:

General Thread Cleanup

Threads across our forum have been organized. Old threads have been locked, and others have been moved to the appropriate board.

Hey all! Winter is over, and in comes the warmer Spring season!

• Returning Spring Theme - We have brought back a classic animated theme back to the forum's forefront! This theme will be in effect throughout the next month or two.

• Forum Board Rearrangement - Later this month, a few boards will be reorganized around the forum for easier navigation.

• Ad-Free - Our forum's ad-free service continues through June 2024.

Hey everyone! To commemorate the launch of Act III of our 15+ year role-playing epic, we have made some major changes across the forum. Here's what's new!

• New Theme: Our new animated space background is now displayed across all of our non-role-playing boards (minus Act III of our role-play). The last time we had a space-theme was way back in 2008!

•• Unlimited Universe Updates: Our forum role-play series has undergone a massive update!

•• Our Character Selector Code has been heavily modified, allowing new stats to be displayed under each role-play character's profile, including their arc status, relation status, which member plays that specific OC, etc!

•• All character databases have been updated and have moved back to the 'Members Only' Unlimited Universe Board so they could be accesible in one place.

•• Graphical Upgrades: Several graphics across the forum has been updated, including the board banners and backgrounds of older Unlimited Universe Acts.

• Thread Updates: Several threads across our forum have been adjusted, from locking older topics to merging some to other boards for convenience.

• Forum Shout Box Cleaned: Our Shout Box has been purged of 2000+ messages, freeing up memory and resources.

• Affiliates Updated: Out list of Affiliates have been updated, removing forums who are no longer active.

• Ad-Free: Our forum's ad-free service continues through June 2024.

Hey all! This update focuses on a new experimental system I'm working on that will allow for a more expansive and hopefully more varied music showcase on our forum's hom page. Instead of having a singular track played all week, I aim to try to have a randomized playlist set up by the end of summer.

In the time being, I'll be taking over the music playlist for a while until something solid is created for our music player. I'll keep everyone up to date on what our team comes up with!

Greetings everyone! It is our forum's 19th birthday! Yes, we are still here after so long, and we still have much to celebrate and show for the years of community and comradery within our nation. Here are the upcoming features to be introduced to our forum this month:

The biggest new feature we've been working on behind the scenes is a music randomizer for our main page! No longer will members hear the same song for a whole week, now you'll hear different tracks submitted by our members!

• Our forum favicon has been updated to match our current background. We have also updated and re-categorized our forum for ProBoard's listings.

• Forum member ranks have returned. You now have stars in your profiles!

• Ad-Free Continues - Our forum continues to be ad-free through December 2024!

• Code Cleanup - A comprehensive cleanup of old code will take place across the site, removing outdated HTML and CSS scripts that no longer apply that were once vital in a bygone era. This will commence across the entire month.

Happy Holidays, everyone! Winter season is finally here, so let us proceed with the latest updates now live within our community.

• New Seasonal Background – For the months of December 2024 - February 2025, enjoy our newest winter background along with a forum-favorite feature: falling snow!

In addition, the 2005 Legacy Skin has been temporally disabled due to accessibility issues. Previews of all active forum skins can be found here.

• Graphic Updates - Several images across our forum have newly designed graphics, namely our banners, board images, and icons.

• Board Description Updates - Description of boards on the main page (seen when you hover over the mini banners) have been completely re-written.

• Forum Policy Updates - Several threads that contain important rules and FAQS have been updated to reflect the latest changes in our community.

• Coding Updates - Legacy HTML code and CSS style sheets have been removed, with adjustments made to how text is displayed.

• Thread Cleanup - Old threads have been locked, and a few topics have been made based on member feedback.

• Music Update - Randomized music on our forum's home page has been increased to twenty, including songs celebrating the holiday season.

RPG-Unlimited Turns 20 This Month!​

Two decades ago, on August 1, 2005, a simple idea became reality: a space for people to gather and tell stories together, one post at a time. What started as a humble role-playing forum as a refuge from GameFaqs has grown into something extraordinary: a vibrant, ever-evolving community where creativity knows no bounds.

From epic fantasy sagas to sci-fi odysseys, slice-of-life tales to supernatural adventures, RPG-Unlimited has been a home for writers, dreamers, and storytellers from all walks of life. Over the years, friendships have been forged, characters have come to life, and a shared love for storytelling has continued to bring us all back, thread after thread, year after year.

Thank you to everyone who has ever posted, plotted, laughed, cried, and created with us. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or just joined recently, you’re part of what makes this community so special.

Happy New Years, everyone! Along with some seasonal flair, we’ve made several updates around the forum to keep things organized and running smoothly. Here’s what’s new:

• Active RPG Character Master List has been moved and fully consolidated into the existing Official Role-Playing Guide & Registration Thread.

• New forum affiliates are now closed until further notice due to too many forums falling off the grid in recent years.

• Older and inactive threads have been cleaned up and locked to reduce clutter.

• RP Avatar lists have been updated, re-ordered, and adjusted to reflect correct character names.

• Background wallpapers in members-only boards have been fixed.

• Animated snow has returned to the forum’s main page to celebrate the winter season! ❄️

• Sticky threads have been reduced to two per board (excluding the RP board) for easier navigation.
