Description
RPGaming is a board that is mainly for fans of the Role Playing Genre games, especially pen and paper games.

We talk about industry news, questions about different game systems and settings, and anything else game related... as well and anything of interest and console games.

We also host games and anything you might need for your games, suck as a place to hold character sheets and the like.

Some of the games we host:

Play by Chat. Its a term meaning that you play RPG's online through a chat medium. Chat room are found all over the net, including the chat on RPGaming's forum (if you want your own chat for your own game, one only has to ask), and the concept of Play by Chat has evolved to VOIP. Currently we have no games involving VOIP.

Play by Post. It's a term meaning that you play RPG's online through a text medium. Before message boards, playing through email was how it was done typically. Now, its evolved into message boards, live journals, ect.

In stead of sitting at a table with friends one (or more) night a week, or sitting online with a chat service and gaming that way (both require everyone apart of the game to set aside a certain day and hours to play with the group), you get online and post at your heart's content, never worrying that you are posting what your character does at 1 am, and the next guy who wakes up at 8am and posts at 10am in response to what your character did. It's a much slower pace of gaming, which is why many have multiple characters in multiple games, but its great for people who have a bad schedule for gaming with others.

Example of a Play by Post in action:

GM said:
Beatrice, you've traveled through this nightmare landscape, which used to be so familiar to you, only to come to what should have been a safe place. Announcements over public radio waves said there were government shelters in West Valley City. When you arrive at the outskirts, nothing looks to be under control here.

The sign, once serving as the city's boundary marker, is covered in red paint or blood and is riddled with bullet holes. White bones litter the ground at the base of the concrete monument to obsolete community pride. The thick, acrid smell of the air since the volcanic super eruptions is mixed with heavy, burning odors that leave a salty, rotten taste on your tongue. Your loyal companion nudges the back of your leg and whimpers softly.

Beyond the sign bidding you welcome to "The Most Reformed City in Utah" lies a population center in the throes of self inflicted ruin. Large corporate structures and residential buildings show massive signs of exterior damage. Abandoned vehicles litter the wide streets and the occasional fire burns brightly and uninterrupted. You hear wild shouting and gun shots in the distance; sounds that should be followed by the howl of sirens, yet are not today.

There is a community center with the words "Alive Inside" spray painted across boarded windows and doors to your immediate left. More gunshots, followed by a blood curdling shriek, sound off in the distance.

B, what are you doing?

Player who is playing Beatrice said:
B. is almost tempted to ignore the sounds of gunshots and screaming. So often in the last several days she had heard the very same thing, only to find herself in a situation she was unable to do anything about, let alone control in the manner she was accustomed.

The officer sighs and pats her partner’s head, gently uttering the K-9’s cue to be alert, “Was ist los (What is going on)?” But it is clear by the look in those wise brown eyes that the German Shepherd has seen more than enough action for a lifetime herself. It’s been an unnerving change from the exuberance B. was used to seeing from Katka, but she imagined she must look and act differently as well. It was as if they had both aged decades in the days since the world changed, each of them looking to the other with a wordless expression that says only: “I won’t give up if you don’t.”

B. goes in the direction the sounds seem to be coming from, already looking instinctively for cover, pistol drawn. “Hier (come) Katka,” she says, quietly but firmly, as she goes through the motions of checking for trouble at every turn, shadow, alley, and overturned car (Detect Ambush, 40%), hoping that she’ll notice any human threat, while the dog focuses on the possibility of things unseen.

Closing the distance, but still not yet close enough to see or hear anything specific, she calls for backup, again only going through the motions. The cop finds a strange comfort in the habit of it, though there has been no answer since the world went to hell (Radio: Basic 65%). Still, there’s something in the attempt; perhaps it’s nothing but misplaced hope.

“All available units: shots fired in the neighborhood of (insert street name here). Requesting back-up.”

(OOC: If there’s no answer, naturally, she’ll continue toward the signs of trouble)

Your Name on the Board
My name on the board is verdilak and I am the owner of the board.

I like th elook, an dcolor choice for your forum. I was going to join immeadiately, and see if you wanted to exchange affiliates, and make an Ad topic on each other's forums. then i realized it was a roleplaying formula.

it's looks really good. i know it's an RPG forum, but all those boards on th emain page under "Play-by-Chat" may not be necessary ... i'd move some of those in sub-boards under smilar categories, to shrten your home page a little.

i love th ecolors for your skin, though. some might disagree, cause i like unique skins, that differ from what most others usually go for.

nice forum, and good luck

Thanks!

I know it makes the page long, but I want the boards under the Play-by-Chat to be there so that any guest can look and see immediately what games are currently being ran, and it might spark more interest that way. Same with the Play-by-Posts, though there is only 1 game being ran that way currently.

i understand. you have your reasons... i'm sure you know what attracts RPG gamers better than i do 😛

i really, really do like the skin, bro!
