Do you run several forums at a time? How is the activity in them? How do you manage to keep up with all of them? Do you have certain times you are on each to keep them going? Are they all different?
I’ve only had one forum at a time. From taking care of one to posting on several, I don’t know if I could find the extra time to run more than one forum. How do you do it?

I only one run at the moment, but I was running several at one point, I still help with quite a few. It's fun, forums are a passion project for me, so until it's not fun, I'll keep doing it. It's not easy to run more than one, which is why I've stopped, but it can be done and it can be an enjoyable experience. Just divide your time adequately and it's not bad.

It's bad enough running one at the moment. If you have more then one and they have around 5K traffic day then damn you need a team of people to help.

I couldn't run or manage many forums nowadays. I am fine with my own forum at this time! As a staff member I can do it though.

Running several forums is poor practice. At most you should aim to run 2 projects, but focus on 1 before opening another. If you run more than one at once you run the risk of not being able to prioritize your workload. By focusing your attention on the one blog or forum, then that project will be made successful in the long run. It is like trying to run two marathons rather than completing one - you will burn yourself out.

Mark created Facebook and focused on Facebook with his class mates, he didn't mess around and make multiple projects.

Honestly it is quite a bit to manage two forums, I couldn't imagine trying to manage more myself! I've been brainstorming and wondering if it's worth just merging the two since they're already similar. I was in the process of merging my Battlebots forum with one of them, since it's a general entertainment forum.

I would never be able to run multiple forums it was hard enough running one. I can only imagine giving someone staff powers on one forum instead of the other and they're saying "Where's ma powers" and I'm like "They're there!!!"

At the moment I currently co-own a forum and I am working on another forum ready to open it up in a few weeks as well. I feel that along with other forums I work on as well is more than enough for me at the moment. Any more than that and I feel I would be overdoing it and just get myself burned out.

Running multiple forums is a head ache and a train wreck waiting to happen. There's no point. All of your members will be spread out on different boards. Just have them join the one board.

I'd rather run one decently sized board than multiple boards. I used to run two boards on the ZetaBoards platform, and I tried to run two boards on the Jcink platform but quickly gave up on one of them and focused on the other one.

I've never ran multiple boards; I'd rather put all my focus into one rather than spread myself thin across multiple.

I am running several forums as well as blogs. It is really difficult to build multiple communities at the same time.
