I tried it before but only for a week, aside from its expensive I also don't like the idea of "pay to win".

Yes, I play. I lead a clan named M3rciless. I've played RuneScape for about 15 years or so on and off. It was a huge part of my childhood with friends and still is a very enjoyable pass-time.
