Have any of you played Runescape? Share some stats with us! Do you prefer RS3, OSRS, or just any of them will do?

I began playing in 2003ish and quit and come back so many times. When I met my husband we started new accounts to play together and had a blast! And we also used a song from Runescape in our wedding as well... it will be posted below.

One of my favorite things about runescape is the events. I love doing them, but the most recent spring event has been meh lol.

I used to play in the early 2000s, but I haven't in years. Probably one I should try and get back into, lol.

It gets you hooked back in. I never leave it for too long lol.

It's pretty easy to get into now with all the changes. And I feel like it is easier to level up now as well. I've built my character much faster than my first one.

Eek, lol. I already have a lot of distractions, not sure how much of my life would disappear with yet another one 😀

The great thing is - you can play it while on forums at the same time 😉 lol. That's what I'm doing anyways. I just gotta click so it doesn't sign me out lol.

I recall some people I met online years ago playing it, and think one of them even did end up being invited to become a P-Mod. For those unfamiliar that's basically a volunteer moderation position in-game iirc

They used to hand out becoming a mod in the game frequently - now it's not as common. Even though the userbase is so big, I think they make friends of friends mods at this point.

Mhm. I know they used to give it out more on the support forum as well - but once I got back into gaming and was interested there was no easy way to apply or anything anymore. I don't see player mods frequently anymore either because of how many worlds there are and such.

I hate seeing that! I understand it, of course, it's a huge community and you need to know you can trust those who you put in a position of authority, but you could be passing up an amazing moderator to promote someone unqualified because you know that person better than the good one. Really unfortunate!

Ah I had no clue that was the case. Well, lemme start playing and make friends with the mods 😛

According to their post I linked there is no application for P-Mod or any mod role that is volunteer. It'd be so cool to be a GM or a mod of an MMO, but cannot imagine it being easy for a big popular game like RS. Did they used to have an actual app years ago? I've never been a fan of staff picking mods for this reason. I always love staff applications a looot more.

Their player mod post outlines what they will check and all before even offering you the role when/if they ever do.
 
I have many many years ago just that once 😉
