Since SakugaCity opened to memberships on 23rd May last year, we are kicking off a month of events from 10th of May until 10th of June. It has been a long standing tradition in our community that we hold a birthday month for the site. 14 year tradition on anime-forums.com and now we start anew on Sakuga City and with a bunch of new faces as well.
We have already opened signups for the Mr Sakuga and Miss Sakuga competitions. These are hilarious fun. Generally filled with mock drama and silliness, participants are pitted against each other other. It is usually done in a league format, a random generator deciding who will go up against who. Participants are given a set of questions and the more creative your answers, the more likely people will vote for you. When I joined the previous iteration of the site over 11 years ago, I wasn't well known. It was quite a large site then. Joining their version of this competition then actually meant that I got to know so many people and I later ended up as an administrator of that same site. I totally didn't win, but I made so many friends. If you're interested in anime or gaming and are looking for a new community, why not join in the fun. And the prize you ask? Popularity. We don't give prizes out for popularity contests. People enjoy these for what they are.

(I told them I will join this myself, but only if they convince 4 more ladies to join to make 15, therefore making a league of 16. XD)
