Satellite Connection and Forum Speed

Forums run slower on a satellite connection. Proved today by visiting a library computer (possibly DSL connection). Actually satellite runs slow for online gaming and FTP also. However, though, I think hosting type (shared, VPS) matters, but I suspect it's a minor concern.
