Here are some of the ways to save on electricity at home. First is the appliances particularly the tv and cable digibox. Even when turned off but if it remains plugged, they consume electricity. With the lights, check for the optimum wattage that a room or hall needs. And when charging your phone or tablet, turn it off for a quicker charging. What more ways do you know?

I opt to apply for a prepaid electricity service which so far, I heard that the system is working very effectively. Existing subscribers are now more chartered, noble and settled in electricity users. The advantages of the new system counterbalance the practical needs and it’s a mutual advantage for both the consumers and the company.

My electricity bill isn’t too bad, especially now that I’m not running the air conditioner anymore. I don’t really try to do anything to cut costs because the costs don’t really get that high to begin with. I suppose it helps that I live in a newer home and all my appliances are energy star approved.

In every case, there is always a way to save. In houses or apartments that are both old and new, one could unplug items and use less watt items like LEDs or Florescent bulbs, computers designed to be energy efficient and newer top end appliances that can run on less electricity. One could also have gas appliances for things like the water heater and the stove. One way to help save on electricity for older houses, is to have the house rewired with newer wiring and fuse boxes, new electrical outlets and light placements.

Depending on where you live, you could save on power costs by using solar panels, it's not reducing the usage but it reduces the cost so it has the same effect 🙂
