my bank has this "virtual wallet" thing where it gives u two savings accounts, so for example, if u have $50 and want something thats $60, it takes $50 out of ur main and $10 out of the secondary.

I think the biggest point is to keep your money partitioned, to help with self-control. =p

Though if you'd like better interest rates, a certificate of deposit can be pretty high-yield.

As Tucker mentioned, Savings accounts generally help one control how much one spends, and actually helps one to save. 🙂 But I can understand not having one, since I don't have one either. 😀

I have one for my savings. The interest is quite low but it is better than putting all your money in your current account as that isn't safe. Also, there are still some decent deals around, you just need to do some research although it isn't as good as it used to be.
