So I'm going back to school and I need help finding grants and scholarships. I've applied to a bunch but I'm always looking for more. Haven't heard back from anyone yet and I need to pay off my first semester by mid August.
Scholarships can be great in theory. I applied for a lot when I first started college. I didn't get any of the ones I applied for. Funnily enough I got scholarships by applying for a general scholarship for my college specifically and they look at my grades and etc and decided to give me scholarships. They were small like 1,000 for a semester or so. Anything helps out though.
I would suggest looking at your college - see if they have any scholarships to offer. They would have something on their website. They may just have names of scholarships and you can google them. But that'd be my first place to go. You can go to financial aid and ask about specific scholarships possible.
There are websites that offer scholarships supposedly though. Like scholarships.com I know sometimes you may have to write an essay. Typical prompt: Why do you deserve this scholarship? Why do you want to go into "...." career? What inspired you to become this...
Hopefully any of this helps. I know the struggle is real. Congratulations for going back to school though! Hope you find some help!
I already looked on my school's website, went to scholarship.com, fastweb.com, etc. and applied for financial aid. Apparently I make too much to be given anything close to what I need. Thank you though. Good to know I'm on the right track.
Very cool, and good luck. I managed to get a few scholarships back when I went to school, but I'm not sure how much advise I can give on that front, as I was going in straight from highschool. I know the application process can be different; I just from your post that you're going back. I'd make sure to check with the university to see what they have to offer. My university paid for like half my education just with a GPA-based scholarship.
